Your current win streak is 7, series record is 15-6. So there, we have won 6 times, not just against JT teams. And hold the largest margin of victory in 1992, 42-7.04-chairshot

You've beaten us in Steve Logan's 3 worse seasons which were some pretty bad teams. JT's two seasons and Skippys first. Not once when we were .500. And you're really killing us with a 35 point margin of victory, a whole point above 34. 04-cheers

And your seven in row are against some of the worst Tiger FB teams I have ever witnessed - the end of the West era and the entire Porter era. Arguments can go on and on.

And that brings us back to our point that memphis needs to step it up

The juggernaut that is ECU. I like your program and love the atmosphere at your games, been there a few times.

Of the remaining 7, two were Liberty Bowl opponents. Just two of the 18 games were played at home, Mizzou in '12 and last year's game with South Carolina. It's frustrating because our record should be much better than that. So many of those games were games we could have/should have won. 03-banghead

I remember one night when UCF had Ole Miss beat until your QB fumbled as he crossed the goal line. Every school has things to be proud of and skeletons that they would prefer to leave hidden in the closet. The board was a little slow and I just wanted to get some conversation going.

That was Daunte Culpepper and he actually tripped on the center's foot on a QB draw on a 2pt conversion in overtime that would have won the game. The play was there, too. Came up a half yard or yard short.

That's just one of a long list of woulda/coulda/shoulda heartbreakers over the years. I just can't bring myself to list 'em all. 03-banghead

i remember listening to that game. had em dead to rights, couldnt believe those aholes escaped with a win. ive liked and followed ucf ever since then.

Do you remember the game we played at Memphis (State) back in 1990? We were in our first year in 1-AA. Almost got that one, too, but we couldn't stop your offense when we needed to.

Yes, I was there, of course. I was disgusted that the game was close, just as I am disgusted that we haven't beaten UCF since (some of your wins were also close). All we fans can do is watch and support to the best of our ability. 03-banghead

I salute UCF, USF and UConn for your amazing records of achieving much in short periods of time. Here's hoping that our new conference can match those spectacular rises! 04-cheers

Trust us, we are. I've already called on here the next time we play ECU in football we will win, and you can take that to the bank! 03-wink

Ole Miss (5 times)
Mississippi State (5 times)
South Carolina (1 time)
Texas A&M (1 time)
Vanderbilt (16 times)

RE: How many current SEC schools has your school beaten in the last 50 years?
50 years ago is totally irrelevent to today, so not sure what the point of this thread is. College football was a totally different world 40-50 years ago, as compared to today

If you really want to compare, ask how many SEC teams has your program defeated in the BCS era, or last 15-20 years.

No one cares/remembers what happened 50 years ago. Teams that no longer exist, or are now playing DII or DIII, or have totally fallen off the map used to be powers in the mid 1900's. Just because you are saying you beat an sEC team 50 years ago, does not mean that team was good then. Was the SEC the premier conference 50 years ago? There is no point to this thread.

No I just don't see the point. The SEC of 50 years ago was not the SEC of today. Tulane used to be in SEC, as did Georgia Tech and Sewanee, whatever a Sewanee is. Are we counting wins agains Tulane and Sewanee in our data?

1964 was 50 years ago. Are you saying the SEC wasn't an excellent football conference in 1964? They weren't rich like today, but they were definitely talented. However, if it makes you feel better, we can reduce the span to 40 years ago, which might be a bit more meaningful, since black athletes were in the picture by then. Of course, Memphis also beat 10 SEC schools during that stretch.

To answer your question, we've beat 12 out of 14 SEC teams. We only having winning records against Georgia, Kentucky, Mississippi State, and South Carolina. Even with Missouri.

First of all, it doesn't count if the team wasn't a member of the SEC at the time you guys played the game.

Second of all, how about you guys put some dates on those games. I wasn't around in the early 80s.

Were you alive in 1990? That was the last time we beat the aggies.

You should thank us for getting T. West fired. Remember the 4,000 attendance game on National TV. What a great pregame speech he gave to the team.

One would think that the fact that since only 4,000 showed up (despite it being a cold, rainy weeknight game) that West was already as good as gone. I didn't see the pregame speech, of course, because I was among the 4,000 (and stayed for every damned minute). The only Tiger football game that I ever left early was the 1971 Houston game (Cougars were 17th ranked and had one of the best tight ends that I ever saw) because my wife was cold. She knows to be prepared now because we will never do that again.

Sorry for partying. Those of us with a football tradition like to reminisce once upon a time. My grandpa sat on the 50 yard line and watched Tulane play at Tulane Stadium. Nothing wrong with us having fun looking at old stats.
