Carlisle's plans beginning to emerge
He helped in reviving the Chisca. He teased the resurrection of One Beale. He sold a bunch of his Wendy's. He bought the bankrupt Sharky's in East Memphis. To what end?

Apparently, with part 1 being the Chisca, part 2 is this:

"LYFE Kitchen, one of the hottest startup restaurant chains in the country, will move its headquarters to Memphis and open two locations, including one in the Chisca Hotel.
...
LYFE's board approved Carlisle Corp. as a minority shareholder in May – an agreement that includes making Chance Carlisle, who is already president of Carlisle Corp.'s Wendy's operator Wendelta Inc., LYFE's new chief executive officer. Wendelta operates 77 Wendy's restaurants in the Southeast.

The relocation of LYFE will have lasting benefits for Memphis, including a "significant" number of hires in the long-term, Carlisle said.
...
One of the more immediate benefits to Memphis will be the opening of two new LYFE Kitchens in 2015: One in the former 6,300-square-foot Sharky's Gulf Grill at 6201 Poplar Ave. in the first quarter, and the other in a roughly 4,000-square-foot space in the Chisca in the third quarter.

...."

Source.

Wonder when the One Beale announcement will be revealed... and I hope it's not a shortening of the project's height...

Yep.

These same folks are doing the 25 million dollar Chisca renovation...there will be a second location there.

The article says they may have a full bar, plus local Memphis beer.

I hope one Beale is a tall skyscraper instead of two midget towers. Would look good for our skyline

Might have to walk over one day for lunch and try it out. They have it everyday or just certain days?

I was shocked that sharkey's stayed open as long as it did. Sub-par food and service and it never seemed like anyone was there.

Hippie food brings yoga chicks = win
Better than fattie mcfattersteins lol.

Id like the one tower as well, maybe a modern classical look. I wonder if he knew about projected plans for Graceland's guesthouse, the HI Select near there just announced, Exchange, 100 Main, the two hotels announced for Fourth St. Not to mention the holding pattern with the old French Quarter. At least 4 of those seem definite, and Exchange is sort of an as needed adaptation of unused apts... but Carlisle is one of the better businessmen in town. I hope he sees a demand and opportunity for a nice, modern, tower

We had good food there on a Saturday night, but it was overpriced for what you got and we were almost the only people in ther, which made for no atmosphere.

It's time for Memphis to build an 800+ foot icon. It's time. Once again it's time. Did I say its time?

If Memphis architecture embraced crowns and spires in its modern buildings a la Morgan Keegan bldg (and not Peabody Place) that height might be attainable one day...

We had a number of meetings there because of the room set up with the overhead projector, and the food was always pretty good and seemed quite reasonable. Of course, this was lunch.

Peabody place's great design but low height make it the most dissappointing building in Memphis IMO.
