Darrell Arthur still can't do algebra. That's all I got.

RE: Kansas fans remembering the 2008 NC game
The difference maker was the blown call by Hightower on the out of bounds play. IF he doesn't **** up that call we are up 7 and shooting free throws and Kansas has to run the whole length of the court. Instead they get the steal and are down by 4. What Kansas fans don't talk about was the other stupid shot that Arthur put up from the left elbow. It was off target so much that it bounced straight to the left; off of the backboard and in.

Arthur is a proven academic fraud 100X over, and we get our banner stripped with no proof whatsoever of any wrongdoing.

there was also a Derrick Rose three pointer...that the officials changed to a two pointer THREE plays after the shot.
I agree that it was a two pointer...but if they don't wait three plays to make that call...the outcome could have been very different.

Nice read. The Darrell Arthur stuff makes me sick. And the Collins steal/3 pointer.

Murphy's Law.

Yep, but we still should've won. We had it.

To this day never watched the replay. So angry left the arena with the intent of driving home through the night non-stop. My better judgment kicked in about 2am in Waco at the Hampton Inn.

I've watched the entire game 7-8 times a year since 2008. We played so well. So many great moments. We had a bad call go against us, Kansas got lucky, and we got very unlucky. We were the best team in the country the entire season.

I have never, and will never ever ever ever watch the replay of it. I still hate watching games on CBS to this day because the Chalmers shot is part of the commercial intro.

The subjunctive tense may be the essence of the Spanish language, but "should've" is a word as close to Hell as any I've read.

cal's did.

shoulda spent the salary we paid him on football.

all we got was more negative press and an enhanced reputation as a rogue program.

game was vacated anyway, we still woulda lost.

Well, you know what everyone says to that....they wouldn't have taken it away if we'd won.

It was harsh..so many tight buttholes. And don't forget Andre Allen getting busted right before that game. I mean how many people lost their backup PG's right before the NCAA final.

RE: Kansas fans remembering the 2008 NC game
After Dozier's free throws at the 2 minute mark, Kansas shot like 80% for the rest of the game. They went 4-4 from the field and 2-2 from the line in the last 2 minutes of reg. And most of those were low percentage shots. They just nailed them.

And we couldn't even hit a free throw.

RE: Kansas fans remembering the 2008 NC game
It's getting easier but still it's hard to remember. Probably will always be... what a night. I happened to be in San Antonio that week for work and got to go. I remember a guy sitting next to me (a non-Memphis, non-Kansas guy) saying "why didn't they foul???" after the shot.

I left about 1 minute into overtime and didn't sleep that night. Damn... yeah, hard to remember.

No doubt. All dead on. Although, for me, I have to turn it off right before Chalmers' shot. I just have to.
