Fox Sports Pre-Season Top 25
No AAC conference members in the top 25. UCF and Houston receiving votes.

RE: Fox Sports Pre-Season Top 25
There are literally zero reasons why Florida should be in the top 25.

Quote:The Gators debut at No. 24 because of how awful last season went for them, but nobody would be surprised if they rocket up the rankings with better health and an entirely new offensive attack under new OC Kurt Roper.

In summary, "Last season was so bad, they cant be that bad again ever"
"since I can envision them winning things, I'm going to assume they will"
"Everyone knows when you change offensive schemes, there's never any growing pains."

I'm surprised he didn't name UF 2014 National Champions.

They might as well have just said "because Florida"

Same could be said of Notre Dame. The guy admits that they'll have a tough time winning games, but still puts them in the top 20. You don't get ranked for winning the games you're supposed to win, while losing multiple ones you're expected to.

RE: Fox Sports Pre-Season Top 25
Florida, Texas, and Notre Dame could go 0-12 and get a preseason top 25 ranking the following year. By the same token, at the end of the year if they're 8-4 with zero wins over top 40 teams, they will finish ranked.

I'm surprised Michigan isn't ranked. They aren't a top 25 team, but they usually get the same treatment as those teams.

Gators have finished ranked once since 2010.
Michigan has finished ranked once since 2008.
Texas- once since 2010.

UCF has better performance in that time period.

Hell Tulsa has a better performance than that.

Don't see those teams getting any preseason love (unless of course you beat the Big 12 champ, and then they throw you some scraps... looking at you Haney)

I challenge you to find the earliest year that Florida and Texas didn't end up in the preseason top 25, regardless of record. Remember the year Texas was 5-7, next year preseason top 25, guess where they finished. Hint: not in the top 25.

Again, you can see this coming. There will continue to be a push to separate the Entitled 5 from the rest of the programs. The same circular arguments will continue to be made.

You don't deserve to be ranked -> AAC team plays no one -> Needs to play in a bigger conference -> no one will invite you to a bigger conference -> why should we let you play in a bigger conference? what do you bring? -> Program is small time look who you play -> AAC conference schedule is weak -> you don't deserve to be ranked.

Create the rules for inclusion; exclude everyone outside your group; complain because the ranked team is not in your group.
