Temple Vs Vanderbilt On SEC Network
Temple vs Vanderbilt will be one of the first two live games ever broadcast on the new SEC Network. The Temple-Vanderbilt game will be the second half of a double header scheduled for Thursday August 28th. The Temple games is slated to begin at 9:15pm. It will follow the first ever live game of the SEC Network, A&M vs S Carolina game (set to begin at 6pm). Kinda cool for Temple to be one of the first two live games ever on that network.

Verizon Fios STILL doesn't carry SEC Network, so its not even an option for me.

I don't know how many other SEC games are occurring on that day, but featuring a team from the 4th largest media market and a team whose ex-coach moved to PSU (which delivers a large part of that market) seems like a wise decision to me. What do you think the over/under on the mentions of Tony Franklin to PSU are going to be during that broadcast?

But since the SEC Network is an ESPN property do you think it might be available on ESPN3?

Will the SEC Network sell games like ESPN does to local broadcast partners? The few Temple games that were not on regular TV last season that were on ESPN3 were picked up locally in NY / NJ by SNY.

I have FIOS as well and i am starting to get nervous.

I'm willing to bet FIOS folds before gameday. Twitter is enraged with them, theyre hearing it.

RE: Temple Vs Vanderbilt On SEC Network
SEC Network isn't going to be selling games to third parties. It looks to be launching with 75 million subscribing homes out of 87-90 million available homes.

The games will be streamed online to WatchESPN customers. I'm told, at the moment, that DirecTV subs will not be able to access the online streams even though they will have access to the network because they do not have WatchESPN.

This will be an interesting game to gauge where Temple is. They had a bad record last year but showed promise in alot of games and PJ Walker could be really good. He must show progression this year though.

Vandy is a good but by no means great team.

I am cautiously optimistic on this one. It should be a close game but I feel like Vandy at home in the first game of the year (both teams still sorting things out) pulls out a squeaker. However I wouldn’t say an upset is out of the realm of possible.

Now, on the other hand, if Temple gets run out of town (losing by 17 or more) I will have some serious concerns moving forward into the season.

Most likely Verizon will cave. They have a decent presence in the DFW area as well as Tampa.

I'll be down there for the game. Call me crazy but I think we've got a shot...if not Nashville doesn't seem like a bad place to get over a loss.

Temple needs to be able to get pressure on the quarterback and play better in the secondary. Any measurable improvement there should account for two to three more wins this year.

The defense this season is where I expect to see the most noticeable improvement (I know, your saying no s#@t, it couldn’t get worse).

From what I have seen in the fall camp and spring game they are finally starting to build some depth in the D-line and secondary. With a couple player position changes, players returning after being out last season, the mid year transfers and the surprising play of some of the new kids coming in it seems like everyone with the exception of Matakevich is fighting for a starting spot and playing time.

Last years lack of depth led to fatigue late and games and worse than that compliancy, especially with a few of the seniors. I don’t like to call out kids but most Temple fans can think of at least a player or two on D last season that started out with the hype and potential of being All Conference that never really stepped up.

Huh? You realize Fios hasn't reached an agreement with SEC Network to even carry the channel.
