Looking at the video I agree...however, a civil suit surely is coming. The young man made an unfortunate decision and paid the price. I do think Stewart was partially to blame in not trying harder to avoid hitting him.

That's what it is looks like to me. Of course the message board know it alls will brand Stewart a killer. Looks like Ward made a stupid decision and paid for it. You never get out of your car on a track when others are going by.

Guy wearing black running down in front of moving race cars at night. Bad decision has to be the blame here. Having met Tony Stewart, I'm sure He didn't want this incident to happen. Nor would Anyone else.

Found out today the Deceased driver was from Port Leyden, Ny. in Lewis co. He Graduated from South Lewis Co H.S. in 2012. Same H.S. My Wife attended years before. Sad it happened.

Strange. After talking with My Brother in law in Turin, Ny., Kevin Ward jr may have been the Great Nephew of My Wife's Cousin whom had recently passed away. Small world We live in.
Can't verify if related. Would have been by marriage. She was a Ward from the Same area.

This entire situation is sad, for everyone involved.

I can't fault Steward. In fact, I feel terrible for him. I imagine that he will never be the same after this. However, I feel sorry for the driver who got hit, and I feel awful for his family. Hopefully racing will crack down on drivers who leave their cars in the future.

Well, I'm not the only one it got because I went to that article from a snippet on another website.

Ha ha, that's okay. I first read your quotes in the post as my jaw was hitting the floor. Then when I went to hit the link I saw Empire and said wait a minute.... I've encountered them before.

Wow... This is a f*cked up issue to base a satire piece on. Usually I find them amusing, but this is out of line.

The update is that we all thought there would be no charges and the case would be dropped but the case will go before a grand jury. We will know if there are any charges later on this week.

Tantillo announced at a press conference that Ward had marijuana in his system at the time of the crash.
