Stewart is an aggressive hot head. He was probably mad at the guy confronting him and tried to intimidate him. He did not try to move over based on the video footage so it looks like he expected the other guy to get out of the way of his car. Tragic event that's for sure.

Several guys that run Sprint Cars like that said you can't see anything like that until you're close.. However, the rules state he was supposed to stay in his car until someone got there to help him out.
