RE: Fan Appreciation Day
What did everybody think?

I felt that in the mini-scrimmage not a lot was revealed, which is fine and to be expected. From what I saw, my conclusions are as follows.

QB: I feel like I know who it won't be. I feel that Phil Ely probably has an edge. Either way we will have a good #2.

RB: I think we are good, and for some time to come.

WR: I see some up and coming talent. There were a couple drops that were, frankly, disturbing. You probably know who I mean (not going to say). Yes, it was windy. But when the ball is right there and you can't handle it--twice, yeah, you ought to be upset with yourself.

Defense made a few plays.

Aside from the football team, man, there are improvements going on all over the place. Never saw so many areas dug up and orange barrels all over the place. Thrilled to see it!

RE: Fan Appreciation Day
I thought Ely was much better during the 11 on 11 drills. All three QBs seemed more decisive than Owens.

Defense looks to be more aggressive this year. We need that pass rush to be successful!!

I thought the receiver play was poor. I saw way too many drops.

I look forward to the new scoreboard and sound system and hopefully a warm-weather bowl game!

RE: Fan Appreciation Day
Maybe today was an aberration but our receivers need to hang on to the ball, all the other ingredients are there for a strong offense. Ely looked like a guy whose waited his turn and is ready to take over. He can make all the throws and is more mobile than i expected. The backs, which is almost always the case, looked ready to go.

Defensively the front seven is very strong and got the better of a good offensive line for much of the day. What stood out to me the most is how physical they were, I couldn't help but notice the hitting taking place at the line of scrimmage. I will reserve judgement of the d-backs until after an actual game. I can say that they all seemed to be in the right places and weren't 10 yards off the wideouts.

Disappointed by only a couple hundred turning out. This is going to be one of the best and most exciting Rocket teams in a while. Fans need to pack the Glass Bowl.

Agree. Very few people on a beautiful Saturday. I don't know why we can't get a few thousand.

Zo has had some great catches in camp. Those were the first two I've seen him drop. I think Zac Rodgers and Zack Yousey have made incredible strives from last season and are competing for playing time this season. Macon and Olack are probably the other starters going on the past. Wilcher and C. Jones are speedy dudes and will see the field as well. Can't wait to see the UNH game.

Last year's Appreciation Day was a week later, like Aug. 20th, and better advertised.

I wasn't paying a lot of attention so I didn't even realize it was happening until it was over and people were posting about it. Otherwise I would have gone because it was certainly the perfect day for it.

Agree, it seemed like the announcement for the event was rather late. On the plus side, the signing line wasn't so long and the players probably didn't mind because they got to get out of there sooner.

These events will be much better attended when we win a few championships.

+1

Bolded the 'few,' can't just win 1 to build up a fan base (e.g. Akron randomly winning it in 2005 and Buffalo in 2008).
