Best receiving corps in the AAC?
If it makes anyone feel better, Memphis probably had the worst receivers last year. I'm just hoping someone besides Sam Craft will catch the damn ball.

RE: Best receiving corps in the AAC?
Not sure how one would quantify the best receiving corps when you have many different types of offenses that require differing skill and tasks for receivers but I know one thing….I would not trade our receiving corps for any other across the country. I am not saying this because I think they are better than all other receivers in the country. I say this because there are some super great young men in that unit which represent ECU in a great manner day in and day out. They are solid students and add to that the fact that they are talented players…Total package type of kids.

Hardy, Jones, Grayson, Worthy, Williams, Bruston, Brown, Jimmu Williams, Bagget, Thompson, Love have something to say about that.

Oh, I bet ECU's 10th and 11th WRs are just insane good.

Outside of Hardy, I've never heard of any of them. 05-stirthepot

Next time our teams meet on the field, when they say "TD ECU" over and over again, they will not be talking about your stadium. 05-stirthepot

Don't know. All I can say is that ECU is deep IMO. We have one great receiver and a bunch of solid ones. A lot of them can be plugged in if anything were to happen.

RE: Best receiving corps in the AAC?
I pride myself on not being a "homer" for my school. I will not claim to be knowledgeable about Houston, Cincy, or any other AAC schools receiving corp.
I will say this though. This is by far the largest number of quality receivers ECU has ever fielded for the last 20 yrs or so. We have had a star or 2 on the team at a time like Dwayne Harris and Terrence Copper which are arguably as good or better than Hardy. But we have
never had some many sure-handed quality targets before at the receiving corp. If our oline gives us time...we will be very hard to defend.

RE: Best receiving corps in the AAC?
It's UCF and there isn't a discussion. Worton, Perriman, and Hall are all absolute studs with the production to back it up. Our 4th reciever Reese was a 4 Star recruit and would start on maybe every other team in the conference. Our 5th reciever Williams was the top reciever at UAB before he transferred.

Phil Steele has UCFs wr corp ranked as the No.9 unit in the country and that isn't isn't giving the group nearly enough props.

It's not even a maybe.

um... in phil steele's magazine he says Houston has the best receiving core in the AAC, and in his all AAC teams has 3 houston wr's (all in top 3 teams), ucf only has 2 (non first team), ecu 2 (second is 4th team) cincy with 3 (non in first 2 teams)

As in number 9 in the country is nice, but its not high enough.

And UCF has 3 wrs on his all AAC teams.

replied before my edit & i missed jj (i didnt see him, he was listed under TE replacement)

but Houston has a first team WR (who 80% of all publications/media considers the best in the league) a second and a 3rd team

ucf has 2 seconds and a 3rd

and you had a point about starting on any other league

the truth is if houston's top 3 go to any AAC team, give them a full offseason to learn the offense, they will be starters

1) http://recruiting.scout.com/a.z?s=73&p=8...id=5095620
2) http://sports.yahoo.com/footballrecruiti...bles-82992
3) belintikoff watchlist
4) special teams player of the year as a true fresh last year

not even including the 5 WR's we recruited all of which are 3star are atleast 6'2 and 4 of which run a 4.4, the return of our senior captain wr shane ros (who was injured last year), our highest rated recruit from a year ago who was a receiver was red-shirted last year and our Backup/wildcat qb who is one of the most athletic players in the league will be a starting WR next year (averaged 10-15 yards a a catch in the 2 games he played WR last year and that was with no experience at the position and true freshmen)

we are all homers here so i expect all of us to believe we have the best WR group (and everything else)..but i find it funny almost all the ucf fans here and a good portion of the ecu fans ..have said they are the best "and its not even close" when every single publication that has done any kind of wr core ranking or any type of receiver rankings at all has put Houston on top

2 receivers at ECU that made big impacts last year as true freshman will make a lot more noise this year (Davon Grayson & Isaiah Jones)

UCF has 3 WRs in the AAC's Top 10 returning. We're followed closely by Houston with 2 Top 10 receivers.

The Knights did this even while rushing for over 2,000 yards as a team. Of every single team that's in the AAC this year plus Louisville and Rutgers, only UCF and Cincinnati rushed for 2,000+ yards.

Clearly UCF, Houston, and Cincinnati seem to have the best RECEIVING CORPS.

RE: Best receiving corps in the AAC?
I love all of the passion for everyone's home team. And, it appears that the AAC has a group of teams with solid receiving cores, which bodes well for the conference. Another thing is that it will be an ingredient for what should be very entertaining AAC football. I am so ready for the season.
