Some good info from the head coach ahead of Monday:

In the first two minutes he is saying the Munchie () is about ready to compete for the starting QB job and that Kiel is just a myth. What is with this coaching staff and their unrequited love for Munchie () and RDA4?

I read it more as an unrequited love of competition.

I wouldn't read into this too much. IMO CTT is doing a little "coachspeak" and being careful not to auto hand off the starting QB job to Gunner without seeing more of him in camp. I think he's also not wanting to pump up Gunner's head too early and preach through competition is how you win the job. Competition (real or perceived) brings out the best in players.
