I saw that headline on an ESPN story and was quite dumbfounded. How is that even a story? The AAC didn't have the best season by a conference ever last year, but they certainly proved that they are an extremely good conference where multiple tourny bids is a given, not a possibility worthy of analysis as to whether it will happen or not. What other conference has as good of a year as the AAC has had only to get cr.ap like this? It's like a football writer saying the SEC is expected to have a team ranked in the preseason poll.

You are only a year old and many people couldn't name half the teams in the conference. You haven't got all your football teams on board yet and won't have your first CCG until next year. Everyone has to get to know you and see that you have a good product.

Can we post the picture of the Louisville fans crying at the ucf -Louisville game ?

Enjoy the win. I've moved on to this season.

I'm an old dude and go back to the Metro days and even before that. Some of the teams here are old friends that I still like to keep an eye on. I would love to see Cincy become the first football game every year for the Cards.

No need to move on. Louisville fans are welcome here. You didn't say anything untrue pertaining to the AAC. We are a new conference and need to continue making a name for ourselves both as a conference and as individual members. Our combined efforts last season were a good start but we can't rest on our laurels based upon a single season's performance.

Personally, I'm rooting for our former conference brethren for the upcoming season. I want to see Louisville kick some serious ACC a$$. The better y'all perform in the revenue sports, the better it reflects upon the AAC.

I feel the AAC has got a lot done in its first year. When you look back at the problems you faced with the BE falling apart and trying to start up a new conference in such a short time, then you must give credit to the AAC for being in good shape going into year two.

I was going to join in with the OP and support you guys--"Of course the AAC is a multi-bid league...."

But the OP John12345 didn't give a link. So I googled the phrase and came up with http://insider.espn.go.com/mens-college-...basketball

Title: American still a power conference
Subhead: Despite loss of Louisville, league should boast multiple NCAA tourney bids

I think you can unbunch your panties. Well Trolled, Syracuse.

is that headline still necessary though? lets not pretend that UCONN & Louisville are the only programs of note in the AAC right now.

The headline strikes me as a pretty common journalistic "good news, bad news" structuring.

"Despite losing star Napier, NAtional Champs UConn look to be one of the nation's elite"
"Despite Saying Bye Bye Bortles, UCF looks to challenge for AAC title"
etc.
"Despite the Thing You Know Happened, Strong PRogram Looks to Be Strong."

Only a Fool would think the AAC isn't a Power Conference. The AAC is strong in all of the Money sports. Again had the Big East gone with 10 Football schools earlier I believe They would still have had a P6 designation. Still deserve a much larger TV contract. Keep Winning My Friends !
