I don't understand the point of prominently displaying New York and yet be the UB Bulls on everyone's scoreboard... Either change your name or give it up... and I'm pretty sure the rest of the SUNY University Centers will never be cool with them calling themselves the University of New York as they are not the state's flagship.

The politics from the other SUNY centers is why White is doing this one step at a time. As to the attitude of the FCS schools towards UB's rebranding... I could not care less...

How will you measure the success of the rebrand? Is it geared toward athletics, academics, spirit? Is the end game to get increased enrollment, attendance, donations, NYC attention? I don't think its a bad idea necessarily I just don't see the payoff to being more associated with the state of New York.

We are the largest state school and only FBS program in the system. There is real value in that and we have seen more media exposure down state, increased donations, and attendance.

I think the attendance is not branding related but donations and media exposure is.

I don't know what to tell you. Donations are up, ticket sales are up, and UB is gaining media presence through the state including new radio deals in the big four population centers of the state (NY, Roch, Albany, Buffalo).

So I'm trying to see where the "losing" part of the effort is..
