One of my biggest complaints going through the process

Can't stand all these what I call "half offers" I'd live to see it in writing and only 25 active offers at one time on record with the NCAA.

Good article. I agree, talk is cheap. Make the offers in writing and STFU. That would eliminate 3/4 of the gamesmanship on both sides.

RE: Today's Orlando Sentinels Recruiting Reform Opinion
Someday pull up Rivals.com and look at how many WR are offered scholarships by X school of your choice. A school like Illinois may offer 50+ wide receivers to try and fill 3 spots. You could really do this for all positions, OT seems to be another position with lots of offers. Bigger schools tend to throw offers out there more frequently than others do. I have heard recruits talk about getting offers from schools like an Illinois, or Cincinnati and then saying "they offer everyone" like its no big deal (cause based on # of offers per position they do). Really if you offer that many kids and offer # 48, 49, and 50 commit...are they really who you wanted and if not then why did you offer them in the first place? And as a recruit you could look at it as "I was their 50th choice" Which they may not know that unless they do their recruiting research homework.

Lots of recruits collect as many as they can for prestige even if they have no interest in the school. No saints in this game.
