I'm sure the price tag for the new video board and relocation have already been accounted for with advertising. A luxury UT has over most of its MAC opponents. As has been said, you really have to give MOB and the staff a ton of credit for their approach to facilities management. Just hope we can survive the Power Conferences as they try to make college football all their own. Go Rockets.

Hey guys if anyone sees any work being done such as moving the old board or putting up the new board please snap some pictures!

The old scoreboard is down--the entire assembly. The only thing standing are some rusty round columns that apparently supported it. I didn't walk around to confirm, but it looked like it might be on a trailer back in the parking lot at the south end. So, it is definite--a new one is on the way.

What a huge difference the bigger scoreboard will make in the game experience! Everybody will love the new board. Can't wait to get to the Glass Bowl to see it. Keep moving ahead.

If you can read the fuzzy type that gives the board info, you could probably find out. I think our previous boards were made by Stadiavision and Daktronics.

The old scoreboard is at the south end of the stadium. I was thinking it might replace the old board in the southeast corner but the way it's set up, I'm thinking it will be put on the structure in the center where the speakers currently are.

IIRC, weren't there some problems with the old scoreboard last year--like parts of some of the numbers were missing sometimes?

Here's a look at the new 'old' scoreboard placement. The beams are in place right there. Hopefully that sound system is going to go away and be replaced with a much better looking sound system.

The brick wall surrounding the stadium certainly has seen better days. Is there a possibility to clean those up or would they have to completely replace them?

Looks like they need to be pressure cleaned and new blacktop and lines painting is needed.
