You think that might show of FOXSportsSouth/Carolinas? I'd be interested to hear what they think.

RE: Football Preview Airs Today!
Enjoyed watching both preview shows but as a UTEP fan, I noticed how lightly the Miners are being taken by the media.

Our second game of the year is Texas Tech at our place. The host of the show says UTEP will be traveling to Lubbock for that game. Damn. With UTEP in Lubbock and TT in El Paso, maybe we get a tie?

Also, when the host went thru each teams schedule, UTEP was never mentioned.

I think last year's results earned this lack of respect and I'm so hoping that the team is improved enough to win some games this year, not just 2.

I don't have a good feeling about your coach after watching this.

He definitely won't win awards for media presence but if he gets things turned around and it stays turned around, he will be my favorite coach at UTEP in a long time. He has promised to have things turned around by year 3, that's next season, or he will walk.

I thought Price was a great coach when he got to UTEP, and he started off with 2 straight bowl seasons. Then all of a sudden, this guy who took Washington State to 2 Rose Bowl, posts 7 straight losing season at UTEP. What went wrong over there?

Hard to say but I do have my own guesses, of course. 2 bowl seasons right out of the shoot really raised expectations and attendance.

Of the 7 straight losing seasons, one was a 6-6 year that ended with the Miners in a bowl vs BYU, where our guys got throttled. Of the other 6 losing seasons, all but the last one had enough close games with weird endings that a Miner fan like myself could make the case that the team should have had a winning season. If your team has ever been in that position then you know what I'm saying.

The last season for Price was 3-9 but started with some promise. The team played toe-to-toe with both Oklahoma at home and Wisconsin on the road. Even the loss at Ole Miss was not terrible. But the team faded, giving UCF, Houston and Rice, good games towards the end of the year but lost them all. It was the lack of progress, lack of discipline, lack of defense that led to his demise as our head guy. Most liked him. Some didn't. But it was time for a change. Season ticket sales had plummeted from a high of almost 25k to a low of 15k. Gotta pay the bills and give the fans some hope so another coaching change. I would like to see some tangible improvement this year but this coach is going to have to show us he can do it before ticket sales takes a big jump again.

Sounds like a Watson Brown coached team. 05-stirthepot
