Since Gang Green is gone, "inferno" does seem kind of gay, so I think Flamers would be a lot less laughable, no?

My point was that it is silly to try to make traditions. They happen organically. It's like trying to give yourself a nickname. It's better when other people come up with it.

Nah I think this one is going to get a good 5 year run at least. It's been through too many votes and surveys and focus groups for them to bail on it and start over so soon.

I doubt it. The people in the athletic department who were involved with putting Gang Green in place are gone, so out it goes. The new people put in their own "creation", Inferno, so they can show they are doing their jobs. I really doubt that Inferno is going to be a big hit as a name. My bet is that Inferno becomes "the student section" pretty quickly to everyone except the marketing people who came up with it.

Basically, replacing Gang Green with Inferno is like a dog peeing on mailboxes to show he's around.
