Another valid argument for "power conference" inclusion.

Just as an FYI these numbers reflect teams with agreements with CLC. There are a number of programs who are not on the list becaues their contract is with a different vendor. For example, Ohio State is not on this list, but rest assured they are likely a top three generator of licensing.

That list is only for Collegiate Licensing Company Schools. Houston is a LRG school so therefore not ranked.

Memphis won't be listed next year as they recently signed with LRG as well.

There are very few schools on a major level that are with LRG. You mentioned one. I believe NC State is another. There are one or two others from the P5... But that is it. I see Houston and now Memphis...but LRG represents mostly small schools. The feedback that I received (used to be in the collegiate merchandising industry) was the product selection was attrocious with LRG. Maybe they just didn't have the resources to handle the overwhelming requests a company like that receives.

That said, the CLC report is about as good an indicator as you will get when it comes to comparing major programs.

ECU has always been around the 50 mark. This past year has been down for ECU merchandise for a number of reasons...the main being in a terrible conference that produced less than acceptable enthusiasm. The other (this past quarter and will be for this coming season) is a change in logo. That change came at a bad time for merchandisers. Much of the orders are placed up to a year in advance, especially apparel. You will still see a fair amount of old logo'd items and some newly logo'd if they were able to order late. That causes a divide in buyers. Some don't want to buy until the new log comes out on the old gear they see. Others want the old logo on the new gear that merchandiser was lucky enough to get the new logo on. As the season progresses, assuming the football team continues to do well, there should be an uptick in the licensing revenue.

RE: Cincy tops American in Licensing Revenue
Licensing Revenue is also just 1 of the many revenue streams.

http://espn.go.com/college-football/stor...enues-list

FSU reported $4.58 million this year, up from $3.06 million from last year. (mainly due to National Championship merchanise) They also revealed a new logo starting this year too.

http://www.usatoday.com/sports/college/s.../finances/

USA Today reported their previous Total Revenues as $91,382,441.
Using the 3.06 million, that's about 3% of their Total Revenues.

So in the grand scheme of things, this is a ranking of about 3-5% of a school's revenue.... when in actuality we already have an existing list of Total Revenue's reported by USATODAY.

Wonder if your new logo created a boost in licensing related revenues. People buying stuff simply to have the latest logo?

See my post above. It was actually not a great year for ECU, even though the school held ground. The affects of the new logo are minimal as it came out so late and there hasn't been adequate enough time to make the change in all areas of merchandising. Even the new ECU logo'd vehicle license plate is still the old logo. The new logo is just now about to be offered.

The other big one is the Collegiate Licensed Properties Association (CLPA). This group is made up of colleges and universities who manage their own licensing program.

The independents are Ohio State, Michigan State, Indiana, Iowa, Oregon, Princeton, Southern Cal, Yale and a few smaller schools.
