I'd be surprised if real attendance was any higher than when MSU went to Troy.

USA is doing a great job marketing the MSU game also. I was in Mobile with my in-laws for the 4th of July and the "It's Here" billboards were everywhere.

29,013 is a very beatable number, especially with MSU bringing at least 5,000. We've never had a large away crowd, so infusing 5,000 MSU fans to a hyped up Jag fanbase at our first home game of the season and I wouldn't be surprised at all to beat that number. Troy brought a good group in 2012, but it was so rainy that it kept a lot of people on both sides away. This game could sell out. We just need to hope for good weather. Mobile is well known to be an event town, and this is turning into an event.

I think this one has a chance of selling out. There's a lot of buzz about it and I've had multiple people asking me about when tickets go on sale. The 3 pm kickoff also meshes with Alabama's 11am start vs FAU and Auburn's 6pm game against San Jose State.

Actually Auburn has a bye and Alabama plays a crappy Southern miss at 5. So even better!

Don't know if South will beat them, but they'll (MSU) know they will be in a ball game as the Jaguars won't be the "pushover" they think .

The last game was lost entirely with turnovers. Overall, Miss State is in worse shape than several years ago and USA is in better shape. It isn't a 'no chance in hell' game.

Still, I wouldn't be surprised by a 30+ to 10 game.

You really think Miss St is worse off?

Miss. State is projected to be a lot better this year as per the sports news media. I feel they will be stronger this year, but so will the Jaguars. Should be a good game in Mobile this year.

There is no way MSU is worse off. This will be Dan Mullen's best team since he's been in Starkville. Their defense will probably be Top 20 nationally and their QB is one of the top dual threat guys in the nation.
USA will have their hands full.

A lot of folks think the D will be particularly strong but I think there are several glaring holes. That's why I think they are worse off. I'm also not convinced when it comes to their QB.

Mississippi State will field one of their best teams in years. Their qb is solid and like was stated above, the defense will be one of the best in the country. South Alabama isn't quite there yet, but should keep improving and will be ready for SBC play. Wouldn't surprise me if they win the conference title this season. Of course, UL-L will be hard to unseat but it can happen.

People keep saying they will be good but they will almost certainly finish 2nd to last in the SEC West. They are a 6-6 team.

They will beat at least one of the schools picked to finish ahead of them in the West.
They were 18th in the nation in defense last year and return most of those players.

I could see them finishing Ahead of A&M. Ole Miss is possible depending how the Rebels QB situation shapes up. Obviously Arkansas is going to go 0-8 in league, so everyone will be ahead of them.

They aren't Auburn or Bama good...probably not LSU good either. But 4th place in the West is certainly feasible.
