As I gaze at our roster for the 2014-15 basketball season, I see talent at every position. Talent that can be schooled and molded into a highly effective and successful group. To go from talented to skillful to effective!
The big question for this season is can Coach Josh Pastner and his assistant
coaches, who I believe are very knowledgeable; make these young men a
Hard as Nails Team. Can the team and their coach grow up at the same time
with the same mission? It is definitely about time for the coach. Just a few
pieces here and there. Some challenges set. Let them remain in the games
long enough to become battle tested, and work through mistakes. These kids thrive on confidence. Coach them up. These guys have a chance at being
very special. We will see if their potential will be realized.

I believe this will be our season of over-achievement. I believe that the disappointments of the last few seasons are behind us.

We were not as talented as we were advertised the last few years. The lack of NBA players from those teams attest to that. This season looks to be perhaps the most enjoyable in a long time!

When our woeful team defense improves is when it will become more enjoyable for me. It has been stated that defense will be a focal point for this years team, but lip service is cheap. Until we guard somebody it will be the status quo. jmho.

I too would like to believe this. Lack of experienced guard play might be our undoing.

However, I will still be in my seat for every home game cheering on the Tigers.

We will be better because we don't have a 3 guard offense this year - much more balanced.
