It was announced this afternoon that DirectTV will be on board with the SECN for its launch date of August 14th. In the same release said that Charter was now close to signing as well. That would give the SECN 7 of the top 8 providers and leave only FIOS Verizon as uncommitted. Kudos Mike Slive! Cha-ching!

Thank goodness! You would not believe how much my wife was harping on me about missing the Clemson/UGA opener because DTV wasn't on board yet.

The Clemson/UGA game isnt on the SEC Network though.

Well if you've seen the billboards around Atlanta for the SECN with the Orange and Red helmets, the impression was that said game could be moved to the new network is distribution didn't go their way.
