Well, we know for a fact East Carolina won't be in either of those two games. We play on the 22nd (weekend before Thanksgiving), have a bye on the 29th (Saturday after Thanksgiving) and play on Thursday the 4th of December (two days before Championship Saturday).

I count 12 total AAC games. Unless this article is incorrect, they MUST pick up at least one more game and could pick up as many as 3 more.

CBS Sports Network has acquired the rights to telecast college football and basketball games from the American Athletic Conference through a sub-licensing agreement with ESPN. The multi-year agreement begins with the 2013-14 college basketball season and continues through 2019-20. The deal provides for 30 men’s basketball games per year, except for the first year, which calls for 25 games. CBS Sports Network also will telecast a minimum of 13, and maximum of 15 football games beginning with the 2014 season.

Ecu is almost certainly the black friday noon game (your game vs tulsa is on friday on black friday)

the other 2 games on that day espn/AAC are pushing as rivalries (ucf/usf smu/houston) and those 2 are likely espn/espn2..and potentially ABC IF a combo of both are good

They have 15. Count the three on 8/28 (Tulane-Tulsa), 9/6 (Maryland-USF) & 9/13 (NC State-USF), then one game a week for the next 12 weeks.

8/28 Tulane-Tulsa
9/6 Maryland-USF
9/13 NC State-USF
9/20 7pm
9/27 12pm
10/4 7pm
10/11 7pm
10/18 3:30pm
10/25 5pm
11/1 12pm
11/8 12pm
11/15 8pm
11/22 8pm
11/28 12pm
12/6 12pm

Dang, I must have been blind when I looked at my calendar. You are right that the Tulsa game is a good bet. I am fine with that. Probably wouldn't have gotten any better TV than that.

I agree that the UCF/USF and SMU/Houston games are likely for ESPN/ESPN2. Highly doubtful that either of those games make ABC. I don't know how TV works but IMO at best ABC picks it up regionally. Can't see it being a national game.

you are right that it will most likely be regional with a second game but ABC is required to put up 2 AAC games ..and noon on a holiday and on friday for a "rivalry" is where i bet they want to use that requirement (not prime time on Friday and not on Saturday with better p5 games available that will likely rate better)

if one of those games can get 2 decent teams in them, theyll have a good chance at abc at noon (potentially fully nationality but on a 10am kick off or something like that)

My bad. I was only counting the "American Conferece TBD" slots. Thanks for clearing that up. Nice to know they opted to take the maximum number of games rather than the minimum.

RE: CBSSN 12 Day CFB Windows for '14
I have it on decent authority that one of the ABC games will be used on Oklahoma-Tulsa. Not 100% confident, but have heard from a few folks that it has been set but not announced.

I don't think they'll have an American game at 12pm ET on ABC on Black Friday, but its possible. Nebraska-Iowa is scheduled for that day but hasn't been selected (yet) by ABC and some media have predicted it to decide the Big Ten West. Stanford-UCLA is at 3:30pm. They can't run the Big Ten or Pac-12 games regionally without providing secondary national coverage on cable (ie. reverse mirror) and right now they don't have matching openings on ESPN or ESPN2 where those reverse mirrors tend to run.

The ACC has set Virginia-Virginia Tech aside for that day and the MAC is guaranteed an ESPNU game that day. ESPN released several of their early season basketball events that run on Black Friday and these seem to be the openings for football.

11am ESPNU (MAC ??)
12pm ESPN2 (ACC or American)
7pm ESPN (ACC or American)

An opening exists at 5:30pm ET on ESPN2, but the finals of the NIT Tip Off have not yet been announced. I think they would slot those in on ESPNU at 4:30pm ET (3rd place) & ESPN2 7pm (Championship). So one American game could go to ESPNEWS or ESPN3.

CBS has always been big on carrying Tulsa games, I know we have our schools athletics media site through CBS Interactive still... I thought that might have changed when we moved over to the AAC but obviously not. Are other AAC schools on the CBSI web?

ECU vs Va Tech has the option for ABC right now on the calendar. I could see that happening if we were to beat South Carolina.

To be clear about this one, VT is the home team, so while it would be on ABC, it would count towards the ACC's TV contract. Boise St. at Connecticut has the ABC option too and would count towards the American if it were used.

Until last year, I think, CBSI had all the C-USA schools' athletic sites plus the conference website as part of the TV deal. The same was true for the MW schools.

But last year something must have changed as several schools did not migrate over to CBSI or migrated away from CBSI and to another host (Sidearm, Neulion).

Nine of the current 11 American members are hosted through CBSI. Temple is through Sidearm and USF is through Neulion. Navy is also through CBSI.
