The last 4 years, not the last 12. Prior to the expansion in 2010, there were only about 30-32k season tickets offered for sale. The rest were held as university tickets and visitor seats, then sold as single game tickets if not used.

RE: SEASON OPENER: Miami at Louisville
Excitement for Louisville Football is at an all time high. The Cardinal Kick-off Luncheon sold out in less than a day. Those that did not prepare for this season by buying season tickets last year are for all practical purposes SOL. Presently we have over 2K on a waiting list to buy season tickets. After this season I would expect that number to double by next season.
Louisville Athletics recently announced that all luxury suites for football and basketball have been sold out. (70 at Papa Johns / 75 at Yum) First time that has happened.
Expansion of Papa Johns will be announced shortly. To say the City of Louisville and Louisville fans are excited to join The ACC is a major understatement.

Well, that many tickets were being pre-sold. However, Louisville only counts the attendance of those that show up at the game. Our problem has never been selling tickets, but rather to get all the buyers to their seats.
Um, Wilkie, dude, you can't presell 3,000 more season tickets than you have ACTUAL seats. Much less have university seats and visitor seats. Too much coffee for you today. Have some beer to calm you down.

I am also including the general sell tickets. Many years they are bought out when they go on sell. Now we could not control the returned tickets from other schools allotments. And this was a Big East and an American problem every year, because those schools never traveled well.

That's cool but the question asked was about season ticket sales.
