Pappy's Predictions - #6
#6 - Texas State

WHAT I LIKE:
I think that Danny Kaspar is going to be one of the better coaches in the league, and he is getting his type players on their roster. They have three starters returning, including 6-8 post man Emani Gant, who shot 55% from the field last season. They were plus-2 rebounding. They will have decent size, and a strong recruiting class coming in.

WHAT I DON'T LIKE:
Last year their perimeter defense was awful. Opponents shot 39.8% against them, which is a killer in today's game. Someone is going to have to step up on the offensive end to replace Joel Wright, who was their go-to guy. They are hurting for 3-point shooting, also.

Watch that 3-point defensive percentage number this season. If it comes way down, that means that Kaspar is getting his system in place successfully.

Or that they're playing poorer three point shooting teams.

I think he will build a winner there. Not that much separation between the southland and sbc. Texas is a big state to recruit. Lots of up side.

Don't say that too loudly around most other Sun Belt fans! :)

Maybe the top 2 teams but after that this is just another low major conference.
