Wrong. This thread is a steaming pile of garbage

I agree, this thread has turned into a steaming pile of garbage.

Also, non conference games don't have to be played in September. Toledo plays Iowa state late in the year, NIU is going to play BYU in late October.

Logically, the cubs won't let the chance for the turf to be ruined unless a variety of items. 1. It's the offseason 2. It's a long road trip 3. The bears move back to wrigley

NU B1G conference schedule is done thru 2019. From now until then they have only 1 OOC game in Oct or Nov. That 1 game is vs ND and there is no way they would move that game to a smaller stadium.

NU does have a open week in Nov 2019 along with 1 OOC opening so that is the soonest your suggested scenario could happen... Though it couldn't happen vs NIU or a MAC team because ESPN owns us in Nov.

I was hoping for the south end zone design thread! Close the road, cantilever the stands, double decker, triple decker, etc..

I never said they HAD to be played in October and beyond. It's just the overwhelming majority are.

Just this year Northwestern lacrosse had played on Wrigley Field during the baseball season. I honestly think some people don't realize that the Cubs go on the road for half of their games.

Can you explain that one?

Okay, the cubs do play half the games on the road, but here is my thought process.

The front office would like it to be at least 10 day road trip to prepare the field for football with goal posts, sidelines, etc. they also want ample time to re prepare it as best as possible for baseball, giving them room to do it as best as possible since it's not a required event with a joint tenant.

Ideally, that would be what they would want. Football games can do some serious damage to grass (soldier field) and I think the cubs wouldn't want a quick turnaround during the season when it's not a mandatory thing to do.

RE: Any Announcements This Week
Those are not unreasonable or even over the top demands to accommodate. I just don't understand the people who say it will NEVER happen. A computer does the bulk of scheduling, all the Cubs have to do is have the request in and the computer will schedule around it.

Lacrosse games can also do serious damage to a field. What happened if it rained during the lacrosse game and the field got messy? As someone pointed out about a reason why they wouldn't do it for a football game.

If they're going to accommodate women's lacrosse they'll accommodate a football game.

By the way, the Cubs were gone for only two series when the lacrosse team came in. It doesn't have to be scheduled around a really long road trip.

Get informed and then post. I didn't even quote you so you can edit the post when you sober up.
You are really proud of yourself, aren't you? Posting on here is the highlight of your day.

Oh they're still not going to play a game at Wrigley during baseball season. Now go find 4 more links of completely useless information that doesn't change the fact they're not going to play football there during baseball season.

It really is a let down this week after all of the conversation and speculation last week. Maybe we'll get an announcement for a Soldier Field game soon!
