If it were a mistake, you don't delete it, you put out a second tweet, Pyr... You prevent all appearances of dishonestly.

I am honestly shocked that _anyone_ would defend what this congressman/congressman's office did (I'm willing to give him a chance to say it was one of his staffers that did it, and they're gone!)

I agree it would've been a good idea to issue a corrective tweet and it is likely it was one of his staffers. It sounds like something an out of touch EP High school grad would do. And if it was, I hope they're on the next flight out of here. Comments like that are unacceptable.
