Pretty much... Maybe he should have taken the Opportunity at Green Bay.

I don't think there is any chance JL makes the team this year. I'm sure they would keep him on the practice squad.

Well you would think Forte had the first spot locked up but after that it seemed wide open...might just be that great college player that doesnt fit any position in the nfl based in size speed or accuracy

You guys are ridiculous. Did you really think Lynch was going to change positions in the NFL and be high in the depth chart? His only chance of making the team is by being a top special teams performer. He would fill a third string QB and third/fourth RB role if he somehow makes the team.

This.

Nothing in that depth chart makes me think Lynch's chances are any better or any worse than when camp opened. If he can fill multiple roles for the Bears, he's got a chance, albeit a small one.

They haven't even played a preseason game yet. Let's see how JL performs in the games and what kind of an opportunity he gets befor we start griping. We can complain after seeing a game or two.

I didn't think he'd be HIGH. I was just hoping that he'd be 3rd string. Hopefully that will change after a preseason game or two.

The only RBs getting any sort of reps are Forte, Ford & Draughn. The rookies are on the third-team and have very limited reps. His job will be won/lost in the preseason games.

Jordan is going to have to make a couple of stand out plays, whether on special teams or on offense, in the few opportunities he gets in the preseason games. Almost as important is he can't have any mistakes. It's really tough for someone who went undrafted and who has so much competition. He doesn't have the leeway of a higher draft pick or proven player to just do enough or make any mistakes.

Last thursday he was basically last in reps. Even Perry had more. But he did put a linebacker on his butt in blocking drills. Unfortunately that 'backer was Mcclellin so it doesn't count.

RE: Bears 6th string running back is...
It's a tough road getting limited reps. Say your in 20-25 plays, 6 of those actually go to you. You make one mistake it gets magnified. If your higher on the rep chart and say 30 plays come your way and you make a mistake it's a smaller percentage. Not to mention that your not getting the practice reps to get better so your chances of making a mistake are higher. It's all about the reps and what you do with them. Truck a guy and you get noticed. Play well and no body sees you. Make a mistake.. your done.

He needs to shine in special teams. That is the only way for him to make the team. The young man is a football player and, I expect on Friday night, that he will be flying around the field. He won't be cheated.

When are roster cuts in the NFL? I know the first two games are at home but is there a chance he's gone before the team even has its first road game?

Teams have to reduce their rosters to 75 by August 26th. On August 30th they have to get down to 53. August 31st is practice squad/waiver wire day.
