Some of the weights look like they are from the Callaway Era. Shaq Roberson is 250-255, not the listed 220. Krum has lost 25 lbs. in the last month (303). There are players that have been down there for over a month that are not listed.

Heights and weights not updated yet. Steve still listed at the same as when he was a true freshman and his has changed a lot

Yea somewhere in the 6'5 260 range but he is quicker and faster

There will be maybe two more versions of the roster before it is complete.

Most D-1 programs can figure out creating an accurate roster, I wish we could.

heights and weights aren't correct on a single roster in the nation (if thats all we're talking about). thats why players seem to grow or shrink drastically from preseason college to the combine/pro day outings. Heck, most high school rosters aren't even right. I was listed at 5'11" on my high school roster. in reality, rounding up got me to 5'9"

now…if we're talking about being inaccurate in regards to who is actually on the team, i agree…thats ridiculous

They are nick names for different outside linebacker positions, often referred to that way within a 3-4 defense

WILL is weak-side outside linebacker
JACK is Middle Linebacker on weak side, but tends to roam a lot because on most plays he's a designated rusher.
MIKE is middle linebacker on strong side
SAM is strong-side outside linebacker

You will often hear the center or QB on offense referring to the MIKE before the play as in "55 is the Mike" because the offense bases it's blocking schemes based on the MIKE. In this case, MIKE doesn't have to refer to the middle linebacker though, just whoever the QB or center believes will be coming through the center's area of responsibility.

Example:
Simplistic blocking scheme A:

Center is responsible for the Mike
Strong-side Guard is responsible for first player to the right of the MIKE
Strong Tackle is responsible for 2nd player to the right of the MIKE
Tight End responsible for 3rd player to the right of the MIKE
Weak Guard responsible for first player to the left of the MIKE
Weak Tackle responsible for the 2nd player to the left of the MIKE

A fun way to watch the game, wether on TV or in the stands:
When watching a game, pre-snap watch the Center and two Guards, continue to do so for the first second of the play. You will almost always know what is happening from that first second by watching their first two-3 steps, and will know where to look next based off of it.
