Shy College football landscape: buying Ws
“In the whole new grand scheme of the college football playoff, you’ve gotto have quality wins and in high-resource conferences you either buy them or you go play them home-and-home,” Mohajir said. “That’sgoing to be a hugefactor in the rankings.”

I agree with a lot of what he is saying. I think the G5 need to have a meeting and collectively agree to only schedule "Home and Home" series with P5s. I believe C-USA, MWC, and AAC have the resources to survive without the bodybag games.

The P5s have created a new system that makes it tougher on for the G5s. Every system has a flaw. I believe the strength of schedule could be the flaw that helps the G5 regain ground, but only if the majority of the G5 conferences can agree to work together.

if that happens there is no incentive for them not to split off and keep all the money.

We have cut back to only one buy game a year. Next year our one buy game is a "neutral site" game with Tennessee in Nashville.

I agree it would be nice if everyone withd ban together and say either home and home or shove it.

It would seem that is the case, but I don't believe it would happen. Even within the P5s there are more "Have Nots" then "Haves". The mid-tier programs in the P5 conferences would lose big if there was a split. If the P5s broke away and only played each other, those conferences would no longer be able to place 7 , 8, or 9 teams into bowls. Those programs that finish 7-5 but post losing records in conference play would end up with losing records and sit home for the bowl season. I don't believe they would go along with a true split. Also, if the P5s did try to split, it would spend years in the courts. Plus, I'm sure many alumni from G5 schools would be calling their congressmen.

I agree. This could also mean that the P5 will have no choice but to play G5 schools which equates to more revenue for all of us. That or home and home games which is also good.

Our current AD has stated he against playing rent a victim games just for a paycheck. I agree. Don't whore yourself out. He also demands we have at least 6 home games a year - that's a must as a fan.
