Take UCONN, Temple...might adjust to 17, and Navy. Thank me later for the parlay.

Pick em means the game is a toss up. No one team is favored.

That line is good. BYU is supposed to be a near top 25. The only game I like is if that temple vs Vanderbilt game moves to +17. SMU vs Baylor might be tempting just being week 1 and that large of a spread.

RE: Las Vegas Opening Lines
id take houston with the 13 (though it is risky)..but theyre changing qbs
id take temple, enough though its not as tempting as the 21 point spread from golden nugget had a few week ago

id wait for post fall practice to think what june thinks of the qbs, if he's is not confident and give line like 'work in progres" "theyll get the system as the season comes along" " etc id avoid that line , if he junes says he's confident in the offense that 31 point spread id take for smu aswell

i wouldn't feel confident enough to bet on any of the other games

Early line was Penn State as a 3 point favorite.

BYU has a great and fast running QB. Think he ran for 250 yds last year vs Texas, and over 1,350 yds for the season (ave 5.5 yds per carry) and had almost 3,000 yds passing while starting for the first time.

BYU's D hasnt been that great lately but there offense is expected to be high scoring this year.

remove the houston game and they might have shut down every other team they played even in their losses, you might be underestimating their D

And UConn, much like Tulane, has issues with O, the D being the superior unit on the field. I wouldn't touch the BYU vs. UConn game. It could be close for 3 quarters and UConn still not cover. Or it could be a layup, but who knows how the team comes out of the gates with a first time head coach, new system, etc.

I hope they win outright, but don't see it happening. Folks arguing for a bet on this game either way have a 50-50 chance of saying "I told you so". But there's just not enough to go on to gage where UConn is adapting to the new coach and system.

Baylor will try to score as many points as possible against its former SWC member and make a statement to the CFP committee. Unfortunately, SMU doesn't have the D to slow Baylor down. Consequently, I can see SMU making the same mistake most teams make and try matching TDs with Baylor while getting blown out in the process. SMU's only chance is a ground and pound offense with smart QB play to keep this game close, which I'll 01-ncaabbs happens for the sake of the conference....

That means Tulsa is favored by 4 pts?

Past Tulane @Tulsa results:
2006 Tulsa 38, Tulane 3
2008 Tulsa 56, Tulane 7
2010 Tulsa 52, Tulane 24
2012 Tulsa 45, Tulane 10
2014 ??

So, for Tulane to get only 4 pts @Tulsa shows how much we improved last year. And I guess it shows how far Tulsa fell last year.

I like how UCONN "supporters" and those who cover the Huskies have put the O-Line on blast. Like they're going to be as bad as last year. BULLCRAP!!!!!!!

I point to the Chicago Bears of last year. Everyone, and I do mean EVERYONE, put the Bears O-Line on blast. Yet the thing that sank the Bears was the run defense. It was horrid, but their O-Line was fine. Excellent, even.

My point (and I do have one), is do not put the UCONN O-Line on blast, they'll be fine. I dare say they'll be the best unit on the team. Take UCONN and the 17, and don't look back.

Note: This isn't a direct response to DfromCT. I only used this post because it mentions UCONN, and I needed a jumping off point for my.......point.

I looked at the recent history of Tulane's series with Tulsa and was shocked by those numbers. This one's a tough call this year because I suspect the Tulsa coach believes his job could be on the line.
