Be a little more cliche.
Fraternities have their advantages and disadvantages. MT had 12 or 13 fraternities when I rushed and I wrote about 7 of those off after the first night of rush and had it narrowed to 3 by the second night.
Some just weren't a good fit and some were full of every single negative fraternity stereotype you could think of, but painting all fraternities and all fraternity men with the same brush is moronic.
I acknowledge that it isn't for everyone and I would have had a great time in college without, but it was a worthwhile investment for me and plenty of others, but it has zero to do with buying friends, if it did I wouldn't have had friends in other fraternities or from the non greek community and I assure you I had plenty of both.
But please, tell me more about my "way of life".
Pi Kapp Gamma Beta 236. I wholeheartedly agree with your comments. While very happy with my decision to join, we never looked down upon those that did not, nor did we exclude our parties from friends that were not Greek. I always laugh at those that demean the Greek system for the "buying friends" argument.....more like pooling resources to have better parties and more women. 26 years later, we all get together regularly throughout the year.....some with our families and some golf events with the brothers. While not for everyone, the committment I made has paid off mamy times over. Haters gonna hate...............

Let's say you pay room and board, and then befriend some guys that live in your dorm. Isn't this not technically "paying for your friends."
You're probably going to say "No, because for so much more with room and board. Also, because you live there, it doesn't mean your friends with those people."
Which then brings this up. How is this not the same for Greeks? With my dues, I pay for SEVEN philanthropies, for construction supplies for a local school, for gifts to local cancer survivors, leadership conferences, and then for parties, tailgates, etc... And btw, just because you're in the fraternity, it doesn't you're friends with every guy in the fraternity. Just like how you're not friends with everybody in the dorm. The only difference between the two, is that in a fraternity we're actually man enough to work out our problems.

Hahaha. Far and away, the biggest douchebags I ever encountered came from a frat. Consequently, most are 30 years old now and still living at home or in some 1 br apartment still "partying" with their brothers.... and they "dont five a damn what anyone thinks". Because ive asked to many of their facesm friends with a couple as well but Jesus. The majority are popped collar stereotypical dbags. Ill leave it at that. The condescending undertone in your post reinforces that.
Anyway, this is not a problem. Sure the clc has sent their nazis on a parade to stop anyome from making a buck on aomething cool, unless they are paid 6k in licensing fees...

Perfection? Yeah see you will be 0-3 in the MAC this season...
All joking aside, with your schedule if you go undefeated I can't really see how you make the access bowl over a one lost team from the AAC or MWC. A MAC vs Marshall debate would be a good one leading up to the bowl selection show. Sun Belt isn't even in this discussion xD

No, because more and more schools are REQUIRING freshmen to stay on campus their first year.

While I never really was interested in joining a fraternity, I also never understood why some people feel the need to put down those who do.
IMO it's a clever shirt, but the guy needed to quit when the compliance dept called him out instead of going on about not going down without a fight.

He's not a tool nor is he an idiot. He's a kid who had the vision to make a really cool shirt that involves his university and his letters. I've done the same thing at FAU, just not including a player, and I'm sure many others have as well.
This is now no longer an issue.

Agreed, just glad Marshall caught this fast and got on top of it. Sure I want my Pirates to get the G5 slot, but I want it is question marks. I don't want because Cato lost his eligibility because of a student doing some shirts with his name on it. No cheap wins.
I seriously doubt ECU or Marshall will be up for that G5 slot at the end of the season. Also you do not have to worry about "cheap wins" as we do not play Marshall. If ECU has a good enough season to be in the running for the G5 slot I assure you Marshall will not keep ECU out even if they are undefeated. For ECU to be considered I suspect we could only have one loss and if we go through our schedule with only one loss there is no way an undefeated Marshall would get that spot over us due to their schedule this season.
You completely missed my meaning of cheap win, I don't want to win the G5 spot because Marshall didn't have Cato. The rest is pointless as I said I wanted, not that we would.
No, you totally missed my point. Marshall's performance has no bearing on ECU getting the G5 slot. If ECU is actually in the running for the spot Marshall will not be our competition even if they are undefeated due to the very weak nature of their schedule this season. To get the spot Marshall will have to be undefeated and hope most of the other "Top G5" teams have at least 2 losses. If there is a one loss Champion from the MWC, AAC, or Sun Belt they would all probably beat out Marshall for the spot even if they are undefeated. So to spell it out further for you…Marshall having Cato or not having Cato really makes no difference for ECU.
Blah blah blah... Your predictions are based on your own meandering. They're pointless.

They (nonGreeks and vic versa) can't that's not their fault nor ours. It's a natural primitive response, revolutionized into modern human society: If you don't understand something, you shun it away or hate it. We all do it subconsciously, always have and always will. The only way this will end is through the spread of education via an open dialogue, which leads to non-judgement upon others, which leads acceptance and tolerance to other lifestyle. Whether it's a Muslim, an homosexual, the girl that doesn't shave her legs and plays the banjo in the quad, or Greek and nonGreek students, such criticism, judgement, and prejudice of somebody else's lifestyle will never end if others aren't willing to open up and listen; to be educated.
Sorry for being weird, I'm working on my finals.
