Don't like to date myself but the Browns called KSU home during training camp in the 70s and 80s....? I used to cover the camp for the local paper and also The Stater! I fondly remember interviewing former USC running back Charles White and Trojan QB Paul McDonald among others.......

Those Record Pub story links don't work for those of us who don't subscribe.....cut and paste?

I would have to think our facilities are woefully outdated, even for a training camp. The Eagles, under Andy Reid, held their training camps at Lehigh and liked the fact that the facilities were outdated and made things tougher on the prima donnas. But the new CBA for the NFL really softened up training camp with the rules and restrictions so they took the camp back to the cushy confines of the indoor practice facility and let the players sleep at home instead of dorm rooms.

PH - I would think the fieldhouse combined with our facilities would be fine for a training camp. Clearly, they would bring a lot of their own training gear. I would think they would be looking at practice space, indoor/outdoor availability, weight room, and training room space. Those are areas we would be average or above average in. Of course, that is pure speculation on my part. I really have no clue.

If our facilities are worse than Baldwin Wallace's where it's currently held then something is wrong.

You figure between the field house, the stadium, and soon to be soccer and track all in the same area it would make a perfect spot for them to practice at.

It's not at BW, fans just park there, it's held at the training facility in Berea and I believe one event at Akrons field. The Fieldhouse still has the original surface down on the field and I'm not sure the NFL players and staff would be too happy with it. Think concrete covered with a thin scratchy patio carpet instead of the newer FieldTurf that seems to be everywhere else.

With Title IX in play, I doubt mens soccer will ever happen at KSU. That said, I have learned to never say never.

I really wish they would revive the program. I have 2 sons that play at a competitive level that I would love to see play in Blue and Gold!

Wasn't going to start a new thread for this but watching Hard Knocks and saw Rosie Nix. Then googled him and saw he got cut by the Falcons already. They were trying to make him a FB.
