Tribe Athletics Website voted "Most Annoying"
Over the years I have visited the websites of a number of Div I Athletics websites. IMHO Tribe Athletics is the most difficult and annoying to use. The "pages" change and jump around like Mexican Jumping Beans and I find it difficult to navigate the site to find what I am looking for.

I was able to view Part I of "3 for Thornton" but not Parts II,III, or IV because they are hidden and overlaid with extraneuos crapola. I use Google and MS Explorer, which I know is not the "best" but it is pretty standard for use by the average user.

I get frustrated at times with our site, but on the whole I find it better than most others.

FYI, most, if not all of those videos are on YouTube. Subscribe to Tribe Athletics there to access them easily. The website uses silverlight for their videos which doesn't come through at all on my phone. YouTube works great in that regard.

Our site could use an overhaul, but, man, have you tried using VCU's? Wow, that is bad.

Yeah.. our site isn't the best, but to call it the worst is a bit silly. I don't have any of the problems you're having except now and then glitches with "overlay" stuff when on a mobile device. In a browser it works perfectly fine and I'm generally able to find what I need pretty easily.

I really like the Tribe Athletics website. Especially compared to what it was just a few years ago. It's not perfect but I think it is much better than other schools, like UR

I just wish the website would try to stop being so "fancy" and utilize the famous KISS technique - it is amazing how KISS enhances communications [Keep It Simple Stupid] for those who are not familiar.

Do you think the folks who run our website have any idea how frustrating it is to use????

I agree that keeping it simple with a focus on maximum content and consistency across platforms. Fancy popups & obscure navigation do not benefit the primary mission of the Athletics website - providing insight & information about the various W&M sports programs. Just my opinion...

Yeah, but it can't look like it's out of 1997 either. If prospective players come to a drab, text only website that is catered toward our less tech savvy audience, that won't speak well to them.

I'm not saying ours is all that modern looking, but we can't take a step back in the name of "KISS" as far as whiz-bang.

Our website is fine and better than most. It has it's annoyances (they could drop the
timeline to the next ....... game at the bottom of the page, for example)..... but the video, graphics and coverage are great.

RE: Tribe Athletics Website voted "Most Annoying"
WHAT REALLY GRINDS MY BUTT; I get several e-mails a week/month regarding various Tribe Athletic Teams . [These are the Tribe sports programs to which I have subscribed]. These e-mails often have a link or two to a player profile or an article on the Tribe Athletics Website
But, when I click on the Link I am usually thrown into the wilderness of the Tribe Athletics website with its swooping Grifffins and rapidly changing screens chock full of unrelated gibberish.

62, based on what you're saying I would bet that there are some settings on your browser that could be adjusted to make a better experience for you. Try checking out the Tribe Athletics website on a couple different computers and see if you have the same experience.

I think that the site's pretty good too. I get a little frustrated by the dropdowns and graphic transitions, but that's usually when I'm on a slow connection. Under normal conditions, it's pretty good. Especially, as others have said, when compared to similar other schools.

Re: Tribe Athletics Website voted "Most Annoying"
I think the desktop experience, though appearing cluttered, works pretty well. I do most browsing over my phone, and there is where the site falls short. I know there is a Tribe Athletics app, which helps, but it is not convenient to the average person. If they had a mobile version of the site, it would make navigation 1000 times easier.

Perhaps I am being overly picky. Like many of you said, our site is on par if not better than most college sites out there.

Agree fully here. Using the site on a smartphone is rough.

Agreed. It's nice to be a step ahead (or at least even) on the desktop, but in this day and age there should be a mobile version. Sounds like a special topics/independent study course for an enterprising CS student.

There is a Tribe app with news, game schedules in calendar form, and video highlights. I believe you have to be a TribeAthletics.com member for the full version of the app.

The app is great for the hard-core Tribe fan. However, for the casual fan or recruit trying to check out the Tribe on their iPhone leaves much to be desired.
