I voted for Mark Warner twice. I wouldnt do it again because he became a partisan once he got to DC, but I really don't give a schit about party.

Yet it's the conservatives who get lectured over and over again about being "open-minded", when we all know that means nothing more than "why aren't you more liberal"? When clearly it's the libs that are closed minded to anyone or anything that may be conservative in nature. And we wonder why nothing can get done in that cesspool of Dee Cee.

If you haven't noticed I am a card carrying Democrat. I'm open minded about who the nominee might be but when all is said and done it is time to circle the wagons. I think it is much better to work within the system rather than get mad when things don't go the way I want and stand outside and yell.

Yet, you'd never vote for a Republican or independent. Amazing.

No wonder we get the government we deserve. You're one of those that would vote for an idiot like a Sheila Jackson Lee over someone sane and competent, simply because of the "D". A yellow dog.

You're yet another who contributes to the problem, complains about the problem, yet is part of the problem and doesn't even realize or won't recognize it.

Talk about close minded.

Actually I voted for a Republican once. He is a friend of mine and I knew he didn't have a chance of winning. So I gave him my vote. Otherwise why would anyone vote for a candidate from a party that more often than not supports positions that are the polar opposite of your position? I have plenty of opportunity to eliminate the outliers during the primary season. If a loony gets through that process I simply don't vote for them, but this seldom happens. While you are entitled to your opinion I think you are off base in your assessment.

if you are a conservative would you honestly vote for someone you considered a liberal?

A liberal? Perhaps not, but that would depend on the other candidate. But that's not what we're talking about here, is it? Again, you leftists move the Gooooooaal!!!!. I said yella dawg, any dim, all the time, so long as they's dim's. Right?

Would I vote for a democrat? Yup. Done it, it was the right decision and he was a hell of a good Pol. Served his constituents well. Was he liberal, well of course not silly, who would vote for that stupidity?

When you voted for those Democrats they caucused with the Democratic party, which I am assuming would promote policies you don't go along with? If all you are concerned with is constituent services then you must not be interested in policy. Don't you understand that the party members in elected office work as a group to move forward policies? When a party is in the majority they reward members with committee appointments and chairmanships. If a member is in name only they are shunned by the party, get no or meaningless appointments and can do very little to help their constituents.

I can understand the view you are advocating if it were advanced by someone that is essentially apolitical, but not for someone that has strong views about where their country should be heading and how they should get there.

I could care less about his sexual orientation. Being effeminate or a metrosexual aren't about that. They are some of is quirks.

Governors don't "caucus". And he did what I considered to be a fine job at the time. And being the Executive he really didn't have to worry about committee appointments of chairmanships...03-lmfao

But by all means, carry on. Yellow dog it is.

They certainly propose a budget, veto legislation, make appointments, administer government departments and control countless boards and committees. I don't want all of that dominated by people that have an entirely different set of priorities.

A heck of a lot of Democrats did exactly what you are advocating here in NC in 2012. Now we are paying the price and they are regretting voting for someone that they thought would be a reasonable and competent leader.
