Department of Homeland Security raid
... can you guess what terrorist activity they are protecting us from in this news story? Go on ... have a few guesses.

Nope ... not illegal immigration.
Nope ... not foreign terrorists.
Nope ... not people here on expired visas.
Nope ... not port freight security.
Nope ... not international flight security.
Nope ... not domestic Islamic groups.
Nope ... not raw milk (good guess though).
Nope ... not home hydroponic gardens growing tomatoes (good guess though).

This time, they are raiding to seize Land Rover Defenders, pursuant to EPA regulations.

I agree. I hope all bathtubs and swimming pools are seized next.

CBP typically does a good job of keeping things from entering the U.S. but this is a strange story. The "raid" probably wasn't necessary, but whether they served them with papers, one agent, or multiple....that vehicle was going away.

Once you allow the government to track or regulate something, there's a huge impulse for the government to do so, even if there's no obvious purpose.

EPA regulations? Have they seen the smoke spewing clunkers illegals drive? Al Gore's jet puts out more pollution than that car. And not the Dept of Homeland Security is the enforcement arm of the EPA? This is BS.

How so? Did it pass a state inspection? Did they pay their county registration? Now the FEDS are snooping around our cars?!?

God help us if that is now the domain of our bloated, overzealous, non-responsive federal gubment. The dept of HLS is now watching what kind of car we drive...

holy crap, we're doomed. the feds in my driveway... why does the left want the federal government in every aspect of our lives?

They don't: see border security. Actually, both sides have failed the issue.

Maybe if we would actually secure the stuff that needs to be secured, these men and women's jobs wouldn't look so bad.
