Preseason Coaches Poll Released - No G5 in Top 25
Herd gets 27 votes, good enough for 37th if the ratings were extended that far.

Only UCF is ranked ahead of us. Interesting to see Louisiana has that many votes as well.

RE: Preseason Coaches Poll Released - No G5 in Top 25
Don't know if CUSA's concern about Marshall self-voting to host the championship game (later rendered moot by votes in the Harris Poll, and further rendered moot by the conference just making up tiebreaker rules after the fact), led to Marshall's Holliday not having a vote in the poll this year?

Real surprised Missouri isn't in the top 25, but Texas is.

I see Rice is just one vote behind Arizona. As are all the rest of us.

No place to go but up.

AMWAY sponsors the coaches poll? I don't think I could come up with a more appropriate sponsor if I created one out of whole cloth. 03-lmfao

Our chances, while still being .01%, are multiple magnitudes greater than USM's. 05-stirthepot

Granted.

Though a start would be winning your first conference championship. 05-stirthepot

There are so many teams now. The poll should rank the top 35. There are a lot of good teams outside the top 25.

Who is that? I don't see a school by that name on the list of receiving votes...

Look, you guys can keep that little name debate to yourselves or start another thread.

I would love to see at least 1 ranked CUSA team at the end of the year with 2 more receiving votes. 2 ranked teams from time to time would be great. To me, that should be our goal as a conference right now.

I just ask for them to be referred by their legal name. And I think we have a good chance of Marshall being ranked going into the CUSA championship game and maybe the western champion receiving votes if they only have a single close loss.

Agree completely. There's no point in having a preseason poll. I find it a little funny that Texas is in it. They didn't do anything last year and no one knows what they have this season. Preseason polls are ridiculous and a waste of time. Rank should be earned.
