or just a shooting star that will fade away once Hunter is gone? I predict they will be middle of the pack once the coach and his son move on. But remember. I never thought Elvis would last six months!01-lauramac2

Western was a factor year in and year out. GSU is very good right now, but time will tell is they replace WKU as the bellcow of the league.

Until proven otherwise, ULL might be our bellcow now.04-cheers

Don't they have to win an NCAA game or 10 before they can lay claim to that? Or at least play in one? 05-stirthepot

I think they can keep it going for a little while. But it is hard to sustain success for a long time. Look at MTSU. MTSU has had a good run... they were pretty high on themselves the last couple of years in the belt. But now they are decimated by graduations and several recruits fell through. They are going to take a big step back this year. Can Kermit rebuild it again the way he did before? It took him about 9 years the first time. About the same amount of time it took Hunter to build an NCAA team.

Building a team is not an exact science. Sometimes you just get a special player or a team just gels.

Building a program to the level of sustained success that wku had is hard at any level.

No one in the sbc right now is going to do that because none of the teams are committed to basketball. Fuzzball rules... Even at UALR football rules.

What????

Yes, we have spent a year trying to get a bowl game while the baseball team was gearing up to be on espn for fights and a crazy coach.

You clowns have been saying that for the last two years and both years we had 20+win seasons and were regular season champs in the Sun Belt and CUSA. We will be fine, and I fully expect us to sweep you guys again this season.

LOL. We'll see. I really don't enjoy the MTSU / WKU sniping and really did not intend this post as such. You guys lost a HUGE chunk of your scoring and a HUGE chunk of your rebounding. The Mississippi State transfer fell through. Objectively you don't think there is any chance you guys take a step back this season?

It is possible, but I think the guys he brought in will be enough to keep us near the top of the conference.
