Good for NIU. Some nice competition, and quality road trips if you're able to make it.

Any reason for the scheduling strategy? Is NIU trying to promote its brand more nationally, in light of its recent successes? Or are those schools more willing to 1-1 with MAC teams than peer conferences in our time zone (CUSA, Sun Belt, etc.)?

They're moving to the Big 12, or MWC, or PAC 12. 05-stirthepot

Maybe going independent again - going BIG TIME!

We have a new AD that apparently thinks that NIU can be more than it has been. And he's gotten a ton of questions about our scheduling. I assume this AD wants to strike while the iron is hot, we don't know how good we'll be in a couple of years. I think the last guy just wanted to get money for road games.

I think its excellent. It will help the MAC brand as well as the NIU brand across the country.

Imagine a day like 2003 when Toledo upset Pittsburgh and NIU upset Bama in Tuscaloosa and I think Marshall won at Kansas State. That was a huge statement day for the conference. Itd be great to have those again.

Its because both games are in the 2nd half of the season when its harder for them to get 1-1s.

My question is the game at NIU first?

@ BYU 10/27/2018
vs BYU 10/24/2020

It'll be better if the game at Provo was in November - you could bring your skis. There's lots of great snow at that time of year.

Provo game is in late October so looks like we are just going to miss prime ski season which is a bummer.
