This is a huge blow for the Oregon Ducks who enter next season with only eight scholarship players currently on roster.

ESPN was first to report the news,

Four-star guard JaQuan Lyle has also not been admitted yet at this time.

Adam Zagoria @AdamZagoria
Kasongo will now consider Florida, Cal and Memphis, source tells @SNYtv

Adam Zagoria @AdamZagoria
Kasongo initially picked Oregon over UConn after changing his mind. Source says he's qualified.

So Kasongo changed his mind (or had his mind changed) and committed to Oregon after first committing to UConn. Maybe something Oregon related?

The good -- Source says he's qualified.

The bad --- Kasongo will also consider Florida.

Bad "mentors" lead to bad results. MT @GoodmanESPN Oregon signee Ray Kasongo has been denied admission to the school, source told ESPN.

What would you rather be? A bear, a gator, A TIGER, or a duck? Looks like he also had UCLA on his list.

Arizona, UCLA and Oregon were the three schools that he visited.

So he's qualified by NCAA standards, but not by University standards?

Do we even have room for him?

Different conferences have different requirements.

12 Scholarship Players:
5 Guards:
Markel Crawford
Pookie Powell
Dominic Magee
Avery Woodson
Damien Wilson

7 Forwards:
Trahson Burrell
Shaq Goodwin
Austin Nichols
Nick King
Chris Hawkins
Dominic Woodson
Kuran Iverson

Walkons:
Forward: Jake McDowell
Guard: Jordan Manse
Guard: D'Marnier Cunningham

Trahson Burrell has also not yet made it on campus. Woodson, of course, has had plenty of issues in the past. Hawkins has had a lot of injuries it seems. So we do have 1 scholarship available.

But it sounds like he was denied by the University (which also has it's own standards, they're just usually no higher than the NCAA standards for athletes) rather than the Conference. It's weird.

But UConn was also recruiting him and as their fans tell everyone UConn is a "Public Ivy."

Yeah, we call it "kudzu" down here and it's not something to be proud of.

Seen it a few times. Guess they think it helps their chances with the B1G.

We do this year. But considering we have no seniors this year, we don't have room for him in 2015 with Lawson already signed for the 13th scholarship. It just amazes me how we are making all these offers for 2015 when we have no scholarships to give. Pastner is just as sneaky as Calipari by over-signing players and then "making room" later by any means necessary. 03-shhhh Not saying this is bad, but it sure appears like he is not as loyal to his scholarship commitments as we are led to believe.
