New Deputy AD
I do not know if this has been posted. EMU has hired Christian Spears as Deputy AD. He had the same position at NIU.

Thanks!

I just went and found the EMU release.

He has a big time resume and sounds like Heather knew him from OSU. (I think they were both at OSU at the same time - I'll double check).

BTW, I've glanced over the resumes of "Heather's Hires" (has a nice sound to it) and they are impressive.

There is a lot of talent in EMU athletics, both administration and coaching.

Dear steve,
I agree and let's hope the results on the fields or courts, shows that she and her department are moving in the right direction. As many have said, time will tell.

RE: New Deputy AD
I'll agree many of the new coaching hires and administration do have impressive resumes. But I agree with Ken that time will tell whether the football, baseball teams will improve. Football is critical at least to be competitive on the field and attendance wise. I'm afraid if CC doesn't succeed here then the regents and administration will take a very hard critical look at the football program. So far I've seen nothing but positive steps being taken to market the football program and provide support. I believe the women's basketball team will continue to be more competitive-there's a constant stream of above average talent coming in the program. I believe men's basketball needs to be marketed as aggressively as the football is now being marketed. The continued success or move up of the men's hoops team is also important.
