I think Munchie is our best wildcat option, and that would make him the
best player at that position. In addition, having him game ready makes
opponents prepare for him.

Munchie is not the best wildcat option. That would be the number 2 guy Jarred Evans who is the new runner/passer we have.

This

Munchie has about 2 pounds of steel in his leg and reconstructed ligaments, I doubt he'd be much of a runner after this to be honest. The limitations may not even be physical, I know if I were in his position every time a guy came low I'd huddle up into a ball.

2 pounds of steel? Please. He had no fractures requiring ORIF.

I will be very surprised if Munchie plays a down in a game this year. His injured leg will not be ready for full contact action this year.

If he does. It will be in a kneel down play in the last home game of the season and he will be put in for the crowd to give him the ovation he deserves.

I hope we get up by a bunch against Toledo and he comes in late. The crowd would go nuts.

Munchie is a great guy by all accounts. I'd hire him at my company based on his character alone. He's just a pretty average D1 QB coming off a massive injury. No shame in that, I just don't want him on the field.

Better than Shaq Washington? Not sure. Shaq looked very good vs. NC for no prior experience.

With Kiel and Evans waiting in the wings, many coaches would have not supported him getting an extra year, especially since he was the former coach's recruit.

Agree. I appreciate CTT letting him attend the AAC media days event to share his inspirational story and provide a morale boost to his teammates that witnessed his horrific injury last year. I think the fact that he is also a returning Senior (and former starter) has earned him some respect and sends a good message to the team that the coaching staff is supportive of the players outside of the playing field. Having all of that said, I still hope Gunner takes the reigns and leaves no doubt as to who is running the offense this year.

I'd say two years. I have a feeling if Gunner is as good as advertised, he'll be leaving for the draft after next season.

I'd certainly be thrilled if we were bemoaning Gunner leaving early in two years.

I get this feeling when I watch him warm up. The ball explodes off his hand. There is no funny side arm motion. I also noticed that he runs better than I thought. For the most part, he is very accurate. He reminds me of a more polished Giodugli. Unless he craters under pressure of a real game, we have our qb.

Kiel could leave after next year I believe.

He is three years out of high school.

1. Having Munchie to grab media attention will take a lot of pressure off of Keil, and that may be worth its weight in gold.

2. One of the great things about college sports is watching kids grow into men on the field. I seem to remember a center being eaten alive by the defensive line a couple of years ago - and everyone was on his case. But he grew over the next year and became a real stud. (Not everyone gave him credit for it.) And do you remember JJ on the bb court his freshman year? Would you have really recognized him as the senior he became? My point is, give Munchie a little space and room to grow. Could he ever become a "great" QB? I am skeptical. But as college sports fans, part of the joy is in watching and finding out.

Has a Cat ever left early? I can't remember any. Better would be stay and win the Heisman.

No prior experience? He was a QB in high school.
