Jarrey Foster who along with Kerwin Roach was the heart and soul of the 5A state champion North Shore Mustangs basketball team, committed to Rice today. You guys are going to love watching this kid. http://www.maxpreps.com/athlete/jarrey-f...efault.htm

Really good news. The new staff continues to impress. Reading through some of the blogs, I see one person said that's our top local signee dating all the way back to Greg Hines (which was probably 30 years ago?). I'm not sure I'd agree with that if you include Bobby Crawford's transfer from Michigan (he was the Texas player of the year IIRC). But it does show you that we haven't been able to sign many of the top local players - and obviously that's been a major complaint of the basketball program at Rice for years and years now.

Congratulations to Couch Rhoades. We are finally recruiting Texas.

I think Hines was +/- 2 years of when I matriculated, so that timeframe is close to spot-on.
