The rumor is circulating that the ASU/UALR game for Saturday is sold out? Can anyone in central Arkansas confirm that?

Nope... doubt it though. UALR can never sell Alltel out, that's why they're building a smaller 5,600 seat arena.

Secondly, this is a Razorback board. UALR and ASU don't mean much here.

I've lurked around this place every once in awhile, there was a Hog fan that used to moderate the ASU board, but he suddenly left...

This thread won't last long, the moderator of this Hog board is a typical Indian hater.

HOG fans will start pulling for ASU like in the old days when ASU gets the point that, if you sit there and attack us all day long and whine about why we won't play you, when you know as easy as any HOG fan does that playing ASU is a lose-lose situation, that's not the way to attract HOG fans to your games, or get UA's attention to even notice you let alone play you.

We also don't need them to get hundreds of millions in donations, sell our clothing, or frankly, for anything.

ASU though, to stay a D-1 program, needs UA fans.

Okay I didn't even read your last post but do you really believe we rely on U of A for support? Arkansas has done everything possible to hold ASU down throughout ASU's history. Not just through athletics.

Now for some quick facts:
1) UA has already played ASU in football. UA won 41-0 in a game played over 60 years ago in Fayetteville. It was a butt-kicking then and would still be today, so why bother playing you and risking the chance of losing a media and fan monopoly in the state? Bad business decision, wouldn't you say? We also lead the hoops series on ASU 5-0.

2) You're existing but barely breathing. When you were in 1-AA, UA fans, including myself, didn't mind your successes. Many UA fans in east Arkansas went over to J-boro for some of your games. Then you jump into 1-A. You get deep into debt, which had taxpayers grumbling because we were having (and still are) to pay for your program, while UA's is running without taxpayer dollars. Then, you go on this HUGE anti-UA craze, suddenly saying that all the problems in ASU's life isn't because of poor marketing, bad financial moves, etc. No, it was all the fault of Frank Broyles. What a load of crap. Not only that, you alienated the one huge fan base in the state against you. Smart move.

3) If you want attendance figures to go up, play Central Arkansas again. UCA gave you the one sellout your stadium had. You barely beat them. Now you refuse to play them. I feel if there is any fear, it's ASU fearing UCA. Otherwise, you'd play them a few more years and bank on easy sellouts. You have no monopoly or fan base to worry about like we do, so you really have nothing to lose playing the Bears.

You want the respect of UA fans. EARN IT. Sell out your stadium. Go 11-1 or 12-0 through your schedule. Build your program without our help. Get out of debt and pay for it privately. THEN, you'll earn our respect and your request to play us has some backing behind it. Until then, stop your whining and start worrying on building your program, cause it's sinking right now.

What points? What points did you make?

1) Do you rely on the UA for support? For fan support, yes. That's why you even put a game in Little Rock. You are begging for HOG fans in Central Arkansas to show up and meet your 1-A needs.

2) Arkansas has done everything possible to hold ASU down. Well, from what I know, it takes the state legislature to make a nominal change, and since Frank Broyles isn't a state senator, who gives a rat's on any college/univ. change. If that's your biggest problem, that's a joke. Why don't you, instead of whining and blaming your wrongs on UA, do something to right your own ship. Run your OWN endowment campaign. Make money. Get visionaries for your own future. We're not your problem, you are your OWN problem. Nothing Fayetteville does can affect J-boro if J-boro sets their own agenda and does their own thing.

3) Fight through UA's road blocks. What road blocks? Your failures in 1-A are all yours, buddy. Blame your ath. department for your weak program, lack of support, etc. UA was smart to build a media and fan base DECADES ago while ASU was twiddling their thumbs. Now you're stuck because of it. Tough. Earn our respect instead of screaming for it.

You've made no points, you've just reiterated the same crap ASU has tried to feed UA fans for years. IT DOES NOT WORK. Face it, you actually have to roll up sleeves and EARN our respect.

Your woes were moving up to 1-A, and then attacking UA, whose fans in East Arkansas make up the majority of your own attendance figures. BLAME YOURSELVES, IDIOTS!
