Aresco seems to forget that until now, we have never been a "have not" conference. The Big East was a Power Conference, which under the BCS system meant an AQ conference, and the AAC was last year as well. He's been commissioner for two years, and both years we have been a Power Conference. So it is easy to say "we have resources" because we did in fact have resources - we got the same huge BCS check that the SEC and B1G got, etc.

Yet if you listen to Aresco, he seems to not understand that this past year, 2013-2014, when we allegedly "shocked the world" by showing up the Big Boys in the Fiesta Bowl and NCAA tournament, that we were in fact a Big Boy. It wasn't David beating Goliath, it was one Big Boy beating another. He keeps talking about our victories as if they were achieved by a have-not conference that proved it belongs in the Big Time, when in fact they were achieved by one of those Big Time conferences.

It's this coming year that we will, for the first time, be a low-resource David, and we will see how that turns out.

annoying? probably, but he has a valid opinion that is relevant to the topic, and didn't attack anyone personally. interesting that being annoying will get you banned but personal attacks, profanity, and crude references to hookers will not.
