Not sure if it matters but our game is sandwhiched between Texas Tech and Texas A&M Classic Trap??

Can you have trap games when you suck?

Of the 3 away non-conf games, I think this is the best matchup for NIU and the best chance of a W

RE: Arkansas Game
Arkansas had a pretty good run game last season. With all the questions the Huskies have on the D-line in addition to the lack of size, I think the Razorbacks will be tougher than they are given credit for.

I disagree. NU returns Venric Mark (missed last year's conference season) & Green at RB, all their top WRs and Siemian should upgrade QB over Colter. When NU went 10-3 in '12, they were leading those 3 losses at the time Mark left each game with an injury.

I have NU going 8-4 (5-3) with a loss to NIU but win over ND. They're very beatable if you know how to exploit their ultra-conservative coaching.

Do not have a good feeling about our defense facing any semi proficient offense.

lol

Colter couldn't throw. They just ran the predictable option ad nauseum because of it. Keep in mind Siemian played with a hurt shoulder last year, so '12 Siemian probably resembles his true talent level.

RE: Arkansas Game
NU gets a lot more hype than they deserve, since Fitz is the coach(not sure why he gets the hype either)...

2012 was the only thing they ever have done that comes close to resembling a B10 power..however...they finish 17th(not exactly top 10), and had loses to Nebraska, Michigan and Penn St.. Big10 quality wins over, INdiana, Illinois, Minnesota, and a "eh" Iowa team.

NU is a classic 7-6 team with wins over teams like Syracuse, West Mich, Maine, Eastern Ill, Rice, Illinois St, Cent Mich, Towson, Eastern Mich, South Dakota..... and then B10 basement teams, Ill, Indiana, Purdue and Minnesota

Trib's Teddy Greenstein is ready to nominate Fitzgerald into the coaching Hall of Fame. And don't trust any media member who calls Fitzgerald "Fitz."

You're right. Colter averaging 8.2 Pass attempts per game because he was a one-trick pony, and averaging 48.9 yards per game at his forte is just way too lofty for a healthy '14 Siemian to beat out. Clearly no successor is beating world-beater Kain Colter.

I have to agree..... I see a win in Evanston and a loss in Fayetteville. I know Arkansas is an SEC bottom feeder, but Razorbacks have two pretty solid RB's, I think they wear us down

It's possible but I wouldn't put my money on it. 3-1 will be a great start from our OOC schedule.

I think UNLV is an easier win than either NU or Swine U.

I would take 3-1 also....

I think this year we will be harder to stop against the big boys(i.e FSU/Utah St, keyed in on Lynch and the coaches couldn't change the game plan). I think this year will be different. more run and pass, less reliance on one player.. I think we will miss JL in clutch times when we "need" a first down

I just thought Arkansas would be the easiest, because NU and UNLV can put up video game numbers on offense, whereas Arkansas probably will go at you more methodically which could allow NIU to hang around in that one.
