Amen you are correct no discussion here but I feel the pain to the University of Louisiana, they are branded! I thought Tulane was created by the Louisiana legislature as the University of Louisiana in the late 19th century. I guess that I am wrong! Please delete my post if inappropriate but I am sick and tired of another school attempting to claim our name.

Gorgeous campus. Didnt catch the stadium though, would have liked to see it in a more lengthy fashion in relation to the rest of the campus.

eh...I don't blame them. People put a lot of stock in names and if I was a ULL fan/grad I would want to be known as The University of Louisiana too. It's lame that they can't be called that. In my book they are the University of Louisiana. I know when Southwest Missouri State became Missouri State it was a BIG deal to the fans I have family and friends who graduated from Missouri State but when they were there it was SWMOST and when the name changed they all went out and bought new shirts, hats, gear etc. They also got new diploma's that said "Missouri State" even though they graduated years before when it was SW Mo St. I get it.

Tulane isn't the Univ of Louisiana, at least from my vantage point...they are Tulane, a great private institute.

Thanks for the academic props.

The official name of Tulane is "The Tulane University of Louisiana." It dates to our heritage as the only land grant state university to go private. But we're not the ones refusing them their name change, the Louisiana legislature did so. UL-L is NOT the flagship university of the state, that happens to be LSU A&M. UL-M tried unsuccessfully to become the University of Louisiana some years back, and they're very outspoken in their stance. As far as what the Cajuns say about the New Orleans market, who cares? They're a much bigger state university, which graduates about 5x as many as Tulane. People don't realize how small Tulane is, with less than 7000 undergraduate students.
