And that means... only three months until Tulsa can forget about how poor Blankenship did and start thinking about Basketball!

I have to start by saying that I know very little about Tulsa football so this could be off the wall, however is Blankenship that bad? Just looking at his record he had a rough season last year but he has over a .700 winning percentage. Is he just not a good game day coach or recruiter and winning in spite of himself?

Unless we see improvement this year (which wouldn't astound me, but I'm wouldn't bet on it either) we've seen game results sliding, poor play calling and a refusal to relinquish offensive play calling duties, and the quality of recruits sliding.

I hope we do well this season. But my hopes are at a tepid level.

tubbs bringing munchie is very telling, cincy fans get mad if anyone even mentions the idea of munchie starting (similar to last year with kay)..but bringing him to media day, he was prasinging muchie and his recovery a week ago and how good he looks.

i remember last year cincy fans were the exact same way and got mad at anyone who said munchie was starting over kay preseason, only to find out munchie ended up being the starter

i still think kiel wins the job but i think alot of cincy fans are in denial just how open the qb job is and how its still very possible for munchie to win it

Do you have some inside information about Munchie's surgically repaired knee? It's Media Day! All of the players listed for UC that attended are Seniors and Kiel is a Sophomore. Munchie has come a long way from a horrific knee injury that he suffered against Illinois last year and is a great story of perseverance for the Bearcats and for the league. He was held out of Spring drills and has not been medically cleared to resume full-contact yet. I would assume all Bearcat Nation is rooting for Munchie to recover and would love to see him come back from the injury and contribute to the team in some capacity. That remains a big question mark and at this point it seems unlikely that he would be our starting QB. Kiel has never started a college game so on the surface there may be "an open competition" but he will win the starting job hands down.

Quote:Now the 6-foot-5, 200-pounder is back for his second senior season, but his place in second-year coach Tommy Tuberville’s plans is uncertain. Cincinnati has two new quarterbacks with whom Legaux must vie for playing time: Notre Dame transfer Gunner Kiel, the former five-star recruit who famously decommitted from LSU in 2012, and junior-college transfer Jarred Evans. Kiel took most of the reps in Cincinnati’s spring drills and, in the estimation of offensive coordinator Eddie Gran, “would be the starter if we were to play tomorrow.”
