Their entire nature is for social change, meaning they are unhappy with the way things are. I don't think it is possible for a liberal, at least a social liberal, to be happy. I think the number would have to be 0% by definition.

I hate the titles we apply to politics in this country. We're all Classical Liberals because we all believe in some form of democracy; as opposed to Classical Conservatism, which focused on absolute monarchies or their modern equivalent, dictatorships.

That said, what we call "Liberalism" in this country is actually Progressive Socialism. The real issue with Progressive Socialism is it assumes there's always something "wrong" with the way things are right now. and that they have to "fix" it. But once they "fix" it to their liking, then they have to find something else to "fix". They never get to a point where they are satisfied with the way things are. They constantly search for new problems to "fix". "If it ain't broke, don't fix it" never occurred to them. They constantly search for new "problems" to "fix" because without them their entire philosophy of constant "progress" falls apart. Its like the trophy wife who's never satisfied with last year's model of Mercedes or the 3 karat diamond ring. They are never satisfied. Being satisfied is a very large part of being happy. People who always see problems and never find lasting solutions are doomed to be less happy than those that can enjoy life for what it is.

Don't confuse Modern Conservatism or particularly Modern American Conservatism with Classical or Traditional Conservatism. Modern American Conservatism is based on the principles espoused in U.S. Constitution.
