SMU is 1.5 hours from Baylor, therefore we won the B12 title last year. Woohoo!

That is the equivalent of saying because ECU is 2.5 hours from where MJ grew up, ECU knows about big-time BB recruiting.

My God, I can actually feel myself getting dumber.

PS - I have many ECU alum friends here in Wilmington and in Va Beach (my wife's hometown), so I'm not trying to troll. My paralegal is an ECU fan as well.

Just calling out the logic (or lack thereof) in all of this.

I can feel you getting dumber too.

Since you can't figure it out yourself, I'll fill you in. The poster who brought that up was merely saying we know what big time recruiting looks like because we are surrounded by some big times programs and our located in a state where there is a ton of HS talent. Honestly, many of our fans grew up UNC, DUKE, NCST, or Wake bball fans. We have seen what big time recruiting looks like, we know we aren't a part, but that doesn't mean we are oblivious to it. Nothing more, nothing less.

As I said, that is the most idiotic premise I think I've ever heard. He said ECU knows about big-time BB recruiting because MJ grew up 2.5 HOURS from Greenville. That is what the poster said. Are you seriously defending this?

That is different from what you are saying now. I'm an attorney, please don't make me cross-examine you.

Just because you are surrounded by big-time BB programs does not make you a big-time program. Period. You don't get to include yourself in that list just because you happen to be in the same state as basketball powerhouse schools.

And btw, Duke has 1 player from NC on the entire roster (and has THREE from Texas, btw). The flagship State school (UNC) only has 4 players from NC on their entire roster. Just saying NC has no more or less HS talent than most other states. Just FYI.

While this may be true today, its not true historically.

From NC:

Pete Maravich
Michael Jordan
Chris Paul
John Wall
David Thompson
Bob McAdoo
Stephen Curry
Tracy McGrady
Jerry Stackhouse

etc. etc....

Do you know how many ECU fans grew up ECU basketball fans. More than half these people were at one time probably die hard duke or unc fans. It doesn't take a rocket scientist, coach, or an attorney to figure out what big time recruiting is.

I challenge you to show me where any ECU fan called us a big time program. No one ever included us in any big time recruiting list, where the hell are you getting this from? Get a grip dude, all the sudden that SMU is good, you're the basketball authority on what other fans know?

You don't know what that poster knows, for all you know it could be coach K posting. School affiliation literally has 0 to do with knowing what big time recruiting looks like.

I don't bang Victoria secret models, but I know what they look like.

Remind me not to hire you as my attorney.

If the shoe fits......

I can't think of a single school in this league that should be jealous of ECU.

But then you guys have always thought you we're better than you actually are.

And yet here we are.....in the same league as the mighty Memphis Tigers.

Yeah, you we're the last school invited too, and it was football only to start.

Congrats?

Got in despite being located in a 70k person town in a market driven expansion.

Not everyone is born with the silver spoon.

If anything I think the fact we got in at all speaks more to what we have built and overcome. What other regional public school located in a town like this got in the AAC? Either way you watched a lot of schools go before you too and never got to experience the actual Big East basketball. 2nd class, 3rd class whatever it's not like you were at the head of the line even with a nice market.

I can't wait to watch the UConn and Cincy fans lose their minds when they pound you at Minges by 30 points.

Only to see their RPI nosedive the next day.

And I can't wait for my ECU bretheren to lose their minds when ECU pounds UConn, Cincy AND MEMPHIS by 30+ at whatever respective football stadium they happen to be playing in that day.

I think if an Alabama fan actively follows bball recruiting, they will know what big time looks like. If a Darmouth fan wants to follow their recruiting, they will. It's interesting how petty you are. You seem to think pretty highly of yourself, its pretty funny.

Who will have the better season: Memphis football or East Carolina basketball? I wouldn't mind seeing a poll on that and getting people locked into to an opinion before the seasons start for both programs.
