Assuming there wont be many but I'm curious.....and it's the off-season.

I almost applied to Tulane for grad school. After failing to get in touch with the head of the department I decided it was too expensive anyway.

I'm interested to see if any UCF/USF grads almost went to the other school.

Nope. I almost went to Florida, but I didn't really like the idea of living in a small college town. That was the only other school I got accepted to. I applied to Harvard for kicks but didn't get in.

Went to high school in Tampa... all the people I didn't like seemed to apply to USF or the local CC, so I completely eschewed that route.

Applied to UF, FSU, UCF, got accepted to all, went to UCF because in terms of engineering departments UF = UCF, and UCF has a better Aero program. (pssst i'm Aero)

I also considered Tulane and aTm for out of state.

I considered embry riddle Ucf uc Ohio state uf and the university of Paris. I ended up at Ucf for much the same reason as kruceff. I am aero as well. I also considered if for MBA but then came to my senses. I had never heard of usf until we played them in football

Well if we're giving the full story here...Wanted to go to the Coast Guard academy but didn't make it. I decided I would go to ECU and then go to law school at Tennessee. Majored in Environmental Sciences/GIS but decided I wouldn't go to law school anymore. Took an interest in a different field (more military oriented) and looked at K-state, Tulane and ECU (PSU and Georgetown were also considered but I didn't want to do the cold weather) for grad school. Decided to stay at ECU. The only other school I actually applied to was UNCW (for undergrad) and I got in.

I thought about all of the Carolina schools, as I spent my last year of HS in Jamestown, NC. Had a bunch of friends going to ECU and App State, and considered both, having established residence by graduating from Ragsdale HS. When I got into Tulane, which was probably due to applying from NC where they got few applications at that time, I was excited to go to New Orleans cite unseen. I had a buddy a year ahead of me that loved Tulane.

I was accepted at SMU among other Texas schools before deciding on UH. I was accepted to UH, A&M, Vanderbilt and Georgia State grad programs in philosophy as well...not AAC schools but I'm not a fan of rules 04-rock

RE: Way OT: Anyone consider going to another AAC school?
Was very close to going to Tulane to law school, but Katrina derailed that. I was also accepted at Tulsa Law (got a nice scholarship offer), but decided to go cheap and nearer home at FSU.

My favorite law school application was Arkansas. The process was great -- their website listed their admissions formula where you just plugged in your GPA and your LSAT and you knew if you were admitted or not. So I did that and knew I would be going to law school at a decent (if hardly great law school) that was pretty inexpensive even out of state. It took a lot of stress out of the whole admissions deal, since having lived in Arkansas for a bit during middle school, I knew I'd be ok going there.

My final 3 were FSU, Tulane, and South Carolina. All former Metro/CUSA schools!

RE: Way OT: Anyone consider going to another AAC school?
I applied to SMU, although I wouldn't have gone there, since I loathe Dallas and have a Pac-12-like aversion to religious schools. They were actually the only school that rejected me outright. I had no idea at the time that their academic reputation was as solid as it is - I just kinda said "screw it" because they waived my application fee.

I wanted to go to A&M, but I would have had to transfer in from one of their sister schools, and I didn't want to risk getting stuck in Texarkana or Kingsville or something. I also got into Iowa State, but my family couldn't afford tuition and honestly after visiting that state this past weekend I'm so glad they were off the table. I would not have survived in some nowheresville college town. Same goes for Baylor, although their acceptance was conditional, and also religious school and close to Dallas and...just yuck.

Ultimately I picked UH because they offered me a scholarship, they had a good Entrepreneurship program (I changed my major to Economics shortly afterward), and, as much as I hate to admit to this, because Case Keenum was tearin' it up.

I grew up in Greenville and went to ECU but then I went to law school at Loyola NO (got to see #14 ECU squeak past Tulane in the Superdome in '08 while living in NOLA) but then I transferred to Temple Law for my last semester of law school. Funny thing though, I never stepped foot in Philly because I took classes at Temple's satellite campus in Tokyo and studied Japanese law. So technically I'm also a Temple alum. It was one of the best decisions of my life.

Are you serious, Indiana Bones? What does one do with a Japanese law degree?

RE: Way OT: Anyone consider going to another AAC school?
The only two universities I applied to were UCF and Miami. I got into Frost at Miami but even after being offered more than $40,000 in scholarships, the tuition was way too high.

UCF's Honors College and LEAD Scholars program hooked me up pretty damn well. Full ride, free laptop, free 4-bedroom/4-bathroom apartment on campus, plus spending cash. How could anyone turn that down?

Funny, USF sent me a postcard and pretty much begged me to apply using their "quick application" which was essentially like a 5 or 10 question form online. They accepted me in less than a week and to be honest, it was a bit of a turn-off how eager they seemed to not even require a full application like the other schools did. They even sent me a certificate with an elaborately designed cover congratulating me on being accepted. UCF and Miami just sent the old-fashioned CONGRATULATIONS letter like the ones you see in the movies.

UCF's campus reminded me a lot of the South Florida style of architecture I grew up in so it felt like home to me. I remember my high school's NHS chapter took a trip to UF once and our guide told us the dorms we'd be staying in were built in the 1800s and had no A/C. I specifically remember a bunch of the kids in our group being really shocked and turned off by that. Amazing what trivial things can sway the minds of 16-year-olds.

I'm a lawyer in NC now. Temple Law's satellite law school at TUJ campus in Tokyo is the only ABA accredited law school in Asia (at least it was in '10). I only lived in Tokyo for 5 months (my last semester of law school). My actual JD degree is from Loyola NO and all 12 of my credit hours from Temple transferred over for that degree. I had already taken all of the required coursework at Loyola so the Japanese law courses were electives.

Interestingly, Louisiana is the only state in the Union that is on the civil law system, civil/Napoleonic codes (because of their French heritage). The rest of our country is on the British common law system. At Loyola, we had the option to learn both systems of law, which I did. Much of the rest of the world operates on the civil codes so this opened up the door for me to take classes at affiliate institutions in Costa Rica, Budapest, and Vienna and to take part in a seminar tour in France, Belgium, and Luxembourg. Since Japan is also a civil law nation, it helped with my transition to Temple University Japan as well.

I visited UConn in HS and liked it, but it was too rural for me. I wanted to go to Tulane at the beginning of HS, but Katrina happened and I wouldn't have gotten in anyway.

I ended up at Boston University over Temple, Indiana, Pitt and UMass. Didn't like it there and transferred and graduated from Temple.
