I like UL but if they go to the access bowl I would be tempted to put all their fans on ignore. Between talking about how much better they are than the SBC and how they absolutely have to get away from us.....well it will be worse than LA Tech fans. BTW that is not high praise.

I would hope our fans would not go overboard. (yes some will, but most don't/won't). but if we did, im sure the money your school and the sun belt gets from it will make it acceptable.

We all want our teams to go instead of the Cajuns, but we need to suck it up and hope they or stAte or someone from the Sun Belt makes it. Louisiana probably has the best shot, and would be proud to root like crazy for them if they make it.
Some of their fans may infer that they want to be somewhere else, with those they have played previously, but that would show what a break it may have been for them. Sun Belt is going to be a big thing.

I agree its early but I base my decisions on last year and last year I said the championship went through Jonesboro this year because they have to play us at home I say the championship goes through UL. Until someone knock us out the championship seat or they move the ASU game to Arkansas then that's where it goes through. And a seven win UL team will get a bowl bid over ever SBC team other than the champion until we prove we can't sell bowl tickets bank on that one.

Last game of the regular season goes through TROYU.

RE: What teams will be bowling in 2014?
Since UL has the best preseason ranking, they are the best shot for an SBC team to make the access/contract bowl. That would benefit the conference as a whole (extra 6M for the conference? or is that next year). If we have 5 bowling teams, then it is likely to assume the other members did well and that means the best over all conference (mo' money). UL gets a huge bowl game, another SBC team goes bowling, more money, more recognition/respect, hopefully better ticket sales for next year, +++++++++

Good luck to everyone. 04-cheers

Come on...If you guys have 6 wins, it won't matter. NOLA bowl loves you guys (and it's well deserved).

Might be a letdown season for y'all, but 6 wins has people in NOLA sporting wood.

yea you are right but 7 sounds better, I think we will have a special year with wins (not undefeated though) and attendance. Hopefully we will have good attendance to our road games, it kills me that we have to play TxSt on a Tuesday had lots of friends looking forward to a weekend trip.

Cajun fans wouldn't have to say anything for some State fans to start crapping a turd because their program wasn't mentioned in the same breath with UL. Hell, it would be darn right intolerable to swallow for some of you period!03-lmfao

I don't think that has much to do with UL. It has more to do with sports journalism and winning 3 sets of championship rings in a row and two bowl trophies and not getting the column inches.

Last year it was Petrino and WKU being drooled on and not UL. Before that it was beautiful Mario and FIU drooled over and not UL.

So its not really you.

Such is the price you pay for being located in a certain geographical area. Would it be any different if you were located in Ruston or Moscow Idaho?

NMSU board did have a consensus agreeing that the Aggies could be bowling this year.

No argument with that at all.

Nonetheless, just because we gripe about it doesn't mean its somehow about UL. And the rings and trophies have eased the pain.

Simple. Just beat them then. Beat them bad and beat them often.
If not you will hear a lot more and you know it. You did it in 2011 and 2012, but two wins the last six years isn't going to do it.

Going to be hard though this year according to The Sports Network:
http://www.sportsnetwork.com/merge/tsnfo...id=4710508

1) LOUISIANA - The Ragin' Cajuns are 17-5 ATS in their last 22 road games. Their bread and butter is an explosive offense, which loses only three starters. In addition, their defensive scoring average has improved each of the last four years. Expect it to be even better in 2014 with the return of 17 of their top 18 tacklers.

Final thought - Louisiana will become the first Sun Belt team to finish with an unbeaten conference record since Arkansas State went 8-0 in 2011. Predicted overall and conference records - 10-2, 8-0.

If the Cajuns get the access bowl slot then they deserve to say things.

This bothers me none because they would have earned it.

Unlike fans of schools who have never won anything in FBS spouting superiority because of their conference patch. They didn't earn anything.
